We are recent vegans who decided to go to cheese and meat country but the staff could and catering team couldn't do enough for us. It was the best time we've ever had in any hotel and we sure will be back!

The hotel was very nice. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a beautiful view of the Matterhorn off the rear deck. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

The Swiss Alpine Hotel Allalin was just charming! We were met by a friendly, helpful staff member at the front desk who offered us a welcome drink. She also had excellent restaurant recommendations. Our room was knotty pine with an incredible carved ceiling. The room was clean, comfortable, and charming with a beautiful view. A key issue for us was proximity to the train station which this hotel has. It was about a 10 minute walk through a delightful downtown area. The hotel has a van which we used to return to the train station. The included breakfast was excellent and the internet connection worked great. We would definitely choose the Swiss Alpine Hotel Allalin if we return to Zermatt.

The room was very well presented. We found the amenities like the gym and pool very useful. Breakfast was good and with plenty of variety. There were always some nice touches which were unexpected. We needed to make a call to Germany and the staff were unsure of the cost, so suggested we make a call for 3 minutes and they could determine the charge and not charge us for this initial call. The chocolate on the bed at night, turning down the sheets and leaving our pyjamas nicely laid out on the bed. Free Wifi was very useful. Staff form the office came out when the bar wasn't busy and served us coffee or beer. They checked regularly as to whether our needs were being met. They organised dinner reservations ions for us at Hotel Julie. When we wanted a more authentic Swiss meal than the special Indian night they had on.

Absolutely wonderful stay in a classic, well maintained hotel. Enjoyed a bountiful breakfast, comfortable bed, and a wonderful view. We were lucky and had perfect weather, but this hotel would make even a rainy day enjoyable. 2 minute ride from train station to hotel in the electric "cars" (real cars are forbidden in Zermatt). All staff multilingual.

Staff was friendly, room very clean, spacious enough, quiet and comfortable - but no A/C (and it was very warm in Bern) in mid-July. A large fan was provided (I was on the top floor, 5th floor; elevators go only to the fourth floor), which made it comfortable at night with windows open (no screens, however). Restaurant was good, esp. nice to eat outside when it's warm. I have to note, however, that I was bitten repeatedly (six times) on my shoulder by something either inside the room or flew in with windows open - itchy, stinging which awakened me at 3 AM. I found nothing in the room the next morning. I mentioned it to the man at the hotel desk that morning as I was checking out but he brushed it off. A doctor in Zermatt, where I went that morning, couldn't determine what it was. A topical salve helped. I don't blame the hotel; these things can happen even in good places. Perhaps screens on the windows would cut down on such events.
