This was a standard, mid-range hotel. Nothing special, nothing great. Except....
The night staff was wonderful. This is why it gets 5 stars from me. Matthew, who wasn't even the front desk person the night I checked in, was so wonderful. Expedia had not sent my reservation to them, but Matthew honored the rate I got through Expedia, was so polite and funny, and was so through the evening when I saw him.
So, yeah, I would highly recommend this hotel. Also, there's a lot of eating and shopping nearby and it's very close to Kings Dominion and Water Country.

This was the first time my daughters and I visited Williamsburg, VA and I was a little nervous not knowing what to expect. I found this hotel to be nothing short of lovey. From the staff, to the grounds, to the offers of guidance and assistance - absolutely perfect!

They have clearly done a reno. It is on the golf course away from the noise of traffic. The rooms are big and comfortable. As a business traveler I appreciate the space and desk. The wifi connection was better than I expected to be. The staff is very attentive. They are clearly not used to business travelers yet, but are very receptive to feedback. There is no room service and food and drinks are only available until 7 pm at their pub.

Very convenient location & property to much of Hampton. Loved the scale of the rooms, roomy and quiet. Excellent closet space too! Alto the TV's are quiet small for viewing in bed- bring your eyeglasses!

I was impressed by the size and beauty of the room. I was staying by myself, but there would have been room for at least 4 more people to have stayed comfortably.
They do expect you to listen to a sales pitch for vacation sharing (formerly timeshare) but I was rewarded nicely for my time.
The resort is a short distance from Colonial Williamsburg and the Jamestown Settlement. The restaurant on the property has great food and nice people. The entire stay was very pleasing and relaxing.

"Quiet and welcoming staff, breakfast underwhelms"
I consider this property a good value. My room was quiet and comfortable and although I stayed only 3 nights, I could see a longer stay working well due to the kitchenette and the table/office chair setups(2). I was pleasantly surprised to discover the easy chair was a recliner and very comfortable. Breakfast is included, but at check-in they refer to it as "grab and go." It's very minimal and there's only non-dairy creamer for coffee. There were granola bars and various flavors of instant grits, I guess the presentation could use some more thought. Some fresh fruit would be a good addition.

Historic Yorktown serves as the endpoint of the TransAmerica bike trail, a cross-country route established in 1976 to help celebrate the Bicentennial. The town is best known for its Yorktown Battlefield, site of the last major battle of the American Revolutionary War. A mile-long pedestrian walk along the York River at Riverwalk Landing leads from the battlefield to the Yorktown Victory Center.
