"Kennedy Center - Must Stay!"
We visited on a Friday night when we saw a play at the Kennedy Center (Cabaret - most excellent production!!). Check in staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby has a nice retro/modern look. Elevators fast and clean. The room was a double with a balcony view looking towards Georgetown and the Potomac River. The room was very spacious and the bathroom as clean with a glassed in shower with and extra large shower head. A complementary rob and slippers were provided as was the wifi. An evening cleanup followed while we were out - a nice touch. They remade the beds, tidied the bathroom and left the slippers out for us! We did not eat there so cannot comment on the food. We did have a few drinks at the rooftop bar. Very friendly service and a great view. Be prepared to pay 5 star prices for your drinks though. Not as much as say, The Hudson in NYC, but pricey none the less. All in all a great place to sty if you are going to the Kennedy Center or want to visit an iconic and historical location.

"Nice hotel staff was very helpful."
My grandson and I wanted to visit DC. We were happy with everything we got to see. It was a little too far to walk to the mall from the hotel and had to spend a lot of money on taxi's. The food in the resteruant was kind of over priced. It was very good but need more to choose from. Menu never changes.

Knowing nothing about the DC area, I knew I was taking a chance on a hotel outside of a popular chain. However the experience was exceptional. Highly recommend the hotel.

"Great location and staff. Some issues, however..."
Great location and one of the best staffs we've found in a hotel! Beautiful hotel with a great past. However; there were some issues: For such a "classy" place, I was surprised to find that there was no room service and the $17.99 +tax breakfast was the same thing every day (scrambled eggs and bacon). In addition, the meal was on plastic plates with paper napkins and plastic forks and spoons. Coffee came in paper cups from air pots and water and juices were in their store bought plastic bottles. Perhaps the most disturbing issues was the apparent jamming of cellular signals from the hotel. They charge $12.99 a day for internet access. So if you bring your own hotspot or phone to connect, you will find it impossible to get a 3 or 4G signal until you leave the premises. You are forced to their portal to gain access to the internet and the $12.99/day charge. This is a Federal offense and a practice at a number of hotels across the country. It was not what I expected from a quality hotel like the Fairfax. I filed a complaint with the FCC regarding this and they have a website for just such complaints. All that said, we would probably stay there again due to the location, rooms, and staff. Just eat at one of the many restaurants nearby and expect to pay for the internet. But be sure not to bring a car, parking is $49 +tax a day...

"Nice and comfy, but needs upgrades"
It's a beautiful hotel with nice restaurants, but it needs some upgrades. I was disappointed that there wasn't a microwave, and I was saddened that the mini fridge didn't work. Also, the water pressure could have been a little stronger, but it's a beautiful place to stay.

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Woodley Park, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Woodley Park hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
