"City break"
Staff were extremely helpful, we were given an upgrade on the room, the only problem was with the weather being a little cold and wet as we would have liked to make use of the outside area by the room. Would stay there again and would recommend it to everyone!

"Nice grounds and comfy room"
Liked the setting in large grounds. Staff helpful especially Martin in the resteurant. Excellent breakfast. Did not have time to try pool and spa. Maybe on next visit? Good value for money. As it's also popular with hen parties and spa breaks if you were unlucky you might have noisy neighbours. In the event my room was peaceful and nice to return to after day of sightseeing in local area.

"Food excellent - hotel rooms need an upgrade"
On reading other reviews I asked for an upgrade to a superior room. The room was very pleasant but needs an upgrade - the bathroom facilities especially. I stay in hotels most weeks up and down the country and felt this was lacking for a superior room. The food was excellent, I had a meal in the evening and breakfast too.

Days Inn Winchester M3

Moto Motorway Service Area, Winchester - Map

"Great value "
Days Inn is in the services area on the south lane of the M5 motorway, north of Winchester. It is easy to park as you have the whole services area parking to choose from and the hotel itself is clean and pleasantly managed. Our room was large, comfortable and clean for a one night stay. The shower was terrific! Nice touches like decaff option and biscuits with the tea & coffee provided. The only disadvantage is the long return drive from Winchester which takes you a long way north in mostly unlit roads at night before you can get onto the south lane of the M5 again. The catering facilities in the services area made up for the lack inside the hotel itself. We had breakfast there in Costa. Well worth £31.50 anyway.

"Characterful and different"
When staying away for 3 nights to attend a training course, I was looking for somewhere with good food, a relaxing / welcoming atmosphere and peaceful. Surrounded by beautiful countryside the Running Horse delivered on all aspects and I would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends and family. Excellent breakfasts.

Pocket Guide: Sutton Scotney Winchester Hotels

The ancient capital of England, and once the seat of King Alfred, historic Winchester is famous for its magnificent cathedral begun in 1079, and venerable Winchester College founded in 1382. The picturesque area around the Cathedral Green has changed little over the centuries, and offers good places to eat, drink and shop. A short walk across the water meadows, the 12th-century Hospital of St Cross is England’s most perfectly preserved almshouse.
