Stayed for one night for a friends event. Arrived later than expected but managed to order room service. Good food and relatively quick, average price. Room good if your looking for a simple clean and small stay trip.

Arrived on Friday 3rd November and greeted by excellent weather for the time of year and was greeted by Geoff the owner who was suprised to see who was arriving as we had previously visited and stayed at the bed and breakfast under a different name in August where my wife and I spent our honeymoon.
On both this and the other two times that we have had the pleasure of staying at this bed and breakfast Geoff, Chris and their staff have always been very polite, extremely helpful with a good English breakfast and excellent accommodation overlooking the sea, within easy walking distance of the shopping centre, the pavilion and the greenhill gardens. It was also well located to view the bonfire and fireworks on the beach on the sunday 5th November.
Parking was also easily obtainable and very reasonably priced via scratch card at £4.00 per 24 hours although we were offered the use of a permit by the bed and breakfast although unfortunately we were unable to find a parking space but I feel that i must make it clear that this was no fault of Gloucester house management.
We have also found Gloucester house to be well located as a base to visit other Dorset locations such as Poole, Bournemouth, our favourite place Monkey world and The Tank Museum at Bovington.
We are now looking forward to our return to gloucester House in August 2018.

When we arrived no heating or hot water. Freezing cold pool Heater sent to room 4 hours + after check in. Sockets kept blowing as too many people using heaters. Got a complimentary nights stay but very very disappointed this time. No spare room offered for shower although we found out this was available as we were leaving. Spoilt our stay sadly.

Nice quiet spot near enough to Monkey World.
Two pubs in the village and a grocery shop to get papers etc
We had dinner. The starter of Thai fishcakes was hopelessly wrong but the main of steak was very good indeed.
I liked the breakfast.

We stayed 6 nights at The Stanley and very much enjoyed our stay. Carol and Keith were wonderful hosts providing us with information on the area to visit and explore. Our full English breakfasts were delicious. The location is convenient a short distance to local buses and the esplanade by the sea. We would definitely recommend staying at this B7B.

Situated at the mouth of the River Wey in Dorset County, Weymouth is a seaside resort with ferry connections to the Channel Islands and France. King George III spent his summers here; a statue of the king stands by the bustling seafront. The narrow sweep of Chesil Beach links the mainland to the Isle of Portland, an isolated coastal area that hosts a wide variety of migratory and sea birds.
