Also the hotel charged for the full term parking stay upfront. (Visa) not a hold.

Have stayed here quite a few times pre-Hilton. The room refurbishment is great, the new lobby area is very welcoming, bright and modern and impressive with the sculptures hanging. The old sports bar has disappeared, but the new quick serve cafe is ok.
The biggest thing is the pool renovations. Fantastic lazy river pool now. Nice pool alongside it with lush loungers and chairs - and plenty of them. However, my downgrading comes because on Friday afternoon no drinks, not even water, were available at the pool in sweltering temperatures. When I asked If I could get some water (I was happy to pay), I was told nothing available and to go back into the hotel (on a boardwalk across the lake). Ok, yet lo and behold Saturday arrives, more guests - and there's a full bar!
It's like paying guests are often treated as second class compared to convention guests. Please could all hotel management please remember that paying guests are just that - we've worked long and hard to pay and go on our holiday (especially like me from the UK), yet areas of hotels are often no-go zones because the convention guests are priority. MY money and MY satisfaction are equally important. This is something that is happening more and more in Orlando (we experienced a huge problem at Disney's Yacht Club last year when thousands of conventioneers took over the four hotels on and around the Boardwalk.
