"Nice hotel directly on the beach w/ stunning views"
This was just a one night stop for us before checking into our resort the next day. The room itself leaves a bit to be desired. Very basic and somewhat tiny hotel room. However, the grounds are very well kept, and there is a lot of spaciousness between the rooms, open grounds and the beach itself. The open yard leading to the beach is amazing. The stretch of beach and views that this hotel sits on are PERFECT. There is also an on site restaurant overlooking the beach that is superb. They had good food, and the sitting is to die for. You can eat inside with the beachside walls open. You can eat in the covered porch overlooking the beach. OR you can eat on patio couches and chairs directly outside beachside for the perfect breakfast, lunch or dinner. The grounds and restaurant make this a lovely place to stay and enjoy Kauai.

This very friendly and well kept oceanfront hotel has everything -- daily light breakfast, free bike rentals, beach cooler/mats and more. Hosts Chris and Karen and the staff made our stay even better with their hospitality. My 10 year old son said this is the best hotel we ever stayed at and he loved all the chickens roaming the lawns. Excellent location, walking distance to many restaurants and central to rest of the island. This will be our hotel of choice in future trips for sure!

Very comfortable room size. Has laundry facilities close by to the room we were in (2 doors down). Has beach towels to use for free! Wonderful staff on hand. Had a pack n' play for our baby. Had a full size kitchen to use. Only 1 downfall that we experienced was we had ants in our room. Otherwise, amazing deal and an amazing trip! Thank you hotel staff for a great experience!

"Very nice hotel on the water and centrally located"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kauai Coast Resort. The room was reasonably priced for Kauai at this time of the year and had a fully equipped kitchen, living room area, large bedroom, and large bathroom. The room was very clean when we arrived. The hotel is just outside of Kapaa town and centrally located on the island and 15 minutes from the Lihue Airport. This made it much very easy for us to drive to each side of the island and to get to and from the airport. They do have a nice bar and restaurant but we chose eat out in town.
We were surprised by two aspects of our stay. During our check-in, we were directed to see a person away from the front desk to get some additional information. The person was very pleasant and gave us the information we needed. She then offered us discounts to several activities and began a fairly high pressure pitch to have us attend a presentation. It turns out that this is a time share facility and our room had been rented out by an owner. She was trying to get us to attend a marketing presentation. . We declined and it was not a problem but it did catch us off-guard.
The other surprise was that there was no room service like in a normal hotel. New towels were available on request so this did not present any problems for us.

Located on the south end of the famed Coconut Coast, Wailua sits at the mouth of Hawaii’s longest navigable river. This area was once favored by royalty and is dotted with sacred Hawaiian sites. Today, kayakers and adventurers use the town as a base to explore the Wailua River, Wailua Falls, and the 19th-century plantation village of Kapaa.
