The hotel was beautiful, we loved the location, the pools and the easy access to the beach. I was not happy with the reception process. I checked in about 30 minutes early and was told I had to come back for my key in 30 minutes (check in time). When I came back I had to stand in a long line waiting to get my keys. There were always only 2 people checking everyone in. The next day when we came back to our room form the beach our room key wasn't working and we couldn't get in. We had to go to registration again, there were about 8 people in line checking in. The staff were slow in checking people in. I asked on the side desk if I had to wait in line just to get my key fixed, they told me I did. So we stood in line about 20 minutes after a long hot day at the beach just to get back in our room. 2 people at registration is not enough to handle the resorts check in and check out along with other guest issues that may come up.

The check in experience wasn't the best. We had to wait 45 minutes past check in to get into our room. We asked for an upgrade and was able to get an upgrade the next day. The main pool was heated for the kids to use and we were very close to the beach.

The state’s largest city, Virginia Beach is known for the inviting stretches of sand that front the Atlantic Ocean. A three-mile boardwalk hosts runners, bikers, and in-line skaters as they whiz by the shops, restaurants, amusements, and many hotels along the way. The military has a strong presence here, too, with air and naval stations situated throughout Virginia Beach.
