I was a little worried after reading the reviews online...I guess some people are just never happy? The hotel appears a little "outdated" from the outside- but, it's constantly barraged by wind, sand and salt air, it's Virginia Beach, not the Carribean..the exterior structures take a lot of abuse! It's not run-down- just exposed to elements.
The room was very clean and had an amazing view of the Rudee Inlet. The spa tub with the waterfront view is perfect for a couples getaway- especially in the off-season. The room was spacious. The staff is courteous and pleasant, and even helped us with an early check-in. The hotel itself is basic- there are exterior corridors, which, I guess in the summer could be noisy, but, in the winter were quiet. There isn't an in-house restaurant, or breakfast; but, there are plenty of places along the boardwalk to eat within walking distance. We will definitely return.

Stayed with my husband, 3 year old, and one month old. Room lay out was excellent for us so baby wouldn't wake our toddler. Mostly updated, but some room for improvement (bathroom), vending/wash machine areas, and very cold in the hallways (we stayed in January). Overall a great location and good for the price.

We enjoy trips to VA Beach during the off-season when rates are low. This hotel is right on the boardwalk with a great ocean view and good location.
We just happened to be there on an unseasonably warm day/night, so it was very nice to sit out on the balcony--in late December!--and enjoy the lights along the boardwalk and the rising moon.

Stayed here in the off-season w/ my small dog. We had an oceanfront room so it had a beautiful view, & was within walking distance of restaurants & a few shops that were open. The staff was friendly & the lobby was welcoming & smelled like the ocean. The room itself was clean, had a coffee maker, fridge & microwave. The bathroom didn't have a working fan & the shower curtain had several broken hooks, & the shower knob itself was difficult to turn on & off. It was clean though & the view & location were awesome so I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The state’s largest city, Virginia Beach is known for the inviting stretches of sand that front the Atlantic Ocean. A three-mile boardwalk hosts runners, bikers, and in-line skaters as they whiz by the shops, restaurants, amusements, and many hotels along the way. The military has a strong presence here, too, with air and naval stations situated throughout Virginia Beach.
