great hotel, in fact they let us use the spa after check out (as we had a late flight) - that was actually a real blessing. location was very good, staff excellent. Only drawback (and this was minor and may not apply to all rooms) but there were no real curtains or blinds (only horizontal blinds) which meant it was never dark and on clear days the sun would stream in. I get up early so I did t care

We spent 3 nights in Vienna there. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. After coming in on a red eye the night before, the staff let us nap on the reclining chairs in the spa while we waited for our room, which was awesome!

Loved the decor and layout of the room, very unique and nice. And the location in the heart of Vienna, next to the Opera House. Enjoyed the good coffee, warm milk and hot water any time of the day, and 4 bottles of free wine daily along with other soft drinks and water. But do not drink champagne unless you want to pay €60! Wonderful grocery store is nearby.

This is a small hotel near to the Nachsmarkt in Vienna, about 5-10 minutes walk from the opera house. It is a good base if you are travelling in a group or for a couple but I would not recommend it to lone female travellers. The details state that room service is available but do not make clear that it is a very limited selection and, more importantly, finishes at 4.30pm so you have to go out of the hotel for dinner. Whilst it is true that there are a number of places to eat in the nearby market, my 18 year old daughter found them intimidating and I would not have been comfortable eating out alone. There is no restaurant and a tiny alcove which serves as a bar. We hoped to attend the music evening in the lounge but the letter in our room invited us to a concert the following week (28th August) and we were leaving on 23rd. We wrongly assumed that there wasn't a concert the weekend we were staying and decided to go out for an early dinner, only to find that we had missed a performance. The reception desk usually had only one person available and, although they were pleasant and informative, there is no one available to assist with luggage. I am disabled so assistance would have been appreciated. There is one very small lift & we were on the 4th floor. Breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choice. Room clean and comfortable but the BBC channel wasn't tuned in properly so stuck with CNN as only English speaking channel on TV. Overall this is a good value tourist hotel.

There were so many hotels to choose from, but we were very pleased with our choice of Derag Livinghotel An der Oper. The staff were very helpful and the location was perfect...right around the corner from The Opera House and across the street from a Spar. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice, as well. Would strongly recommend.

Most travellers to Vienna will spend the majority of their time exploring the Innenstadt (centre). Neatly circumscribed by the Ringstrasse, this area is largely pedestrianised, with quaint cobbled streets and medieval squares. The city's focal point is the Gothic spire of the Stephansdom and key attractions include the huge Hofburg palace and the Spanish Riding School.
