The hotel is above the shopping mall. Highlights were its location - great access to shopping, dining & transportation into Vancouver. The views were nice from the front of the property too. The drawbacks were that its just generally shabby. The hallway carpets were filthy & worn. The hallways were dimly lit too. We had a balcony but you had to look out & around a dirt patch covered in weeds to get a glimpse of the water. Theres not a clear water view. It says they are in the process of becoming a Coast Hotel. It needs a major rennovation. Hopefully they will. Until then, i wouldnt stay again.

Honestly I love staying here, but the rooms are dated, washrooms are old and the toilets flush so badly. Restaurant was closed and they had a coffee room setup. Badly maintained, windows dirty or the seal is blown. The restaurant was sad in many ways.

There was no decaffeinated coffee in the room so we called the front desk to get some brought up. We called 5 times from room phone with no answer. I called the hotel number from my phone and finally after 6 rings they answered. Very frustrating. Also no upgrades as I was told they were sold out , which I know they weren't as there was availability on Expedia!!!

Good Location - but needs attention

The hotel is well situated for a Vancouver stay, with easy access to the Seabus terminal, and essentially in the Lonsdale Quay market. I stayed at this property many times several years ago for a project, and was looking forward to this visit. The hotel clearly needs attention; our accommodation (an "executive" room) had a small balcony - with a dead strip of grass and weeds beside it (it could have been very attractive), dirty windows and chipped paint. Bathroom was OK, but no fan. Shower hot/cold controls were reversed. We appreciated the bottle of wine on the table, but there was no note on it to indicate if it was a welcome gift or an additional charge. Coffee maker came with only two coffee pods, which did not meet our morning needs. On day one, we left the hotel at 0900, with the "Please make up the room" tag on the handle, expecting it would be done as there were two room service carts outside the door. On our return at 1130, it wasn't done. One elevator was intermittent in service, with a flashing indicator light which did not inspire confidence. This hotel - once excellent - is sliding downward. It needs significant attention from intelligent and dedicated management.
