"Excellent Hotel near the Market in Montevideo"
The Puerto Mercado Hotel in Montevideo is a fully renovated hotel conveniently located near the Market area in the old town. Also this hotel is an easy walk to the seaside and to walk through the old town and sights. Excellent buffet breakfast, large renovated sleeping room with fully modern style bathroom. The hotel staff were excellent, friendly helpful at check-in, check-out and answering questions about directions and other questions. Excellent value room and I highly recommend this hotel for its location, modern amenities and renovated stylish rooms, and overall hotel.

"Great location. Modern."
We had a large corner room, which was very pleasingly furnished. Modern design. We had a sink, refrigerator and hot water boiler. There were a couple of tea bags and sugar. We had a bar height table and two bar stools. A multitude of outlet types around. Free wifi worked very well. Bathroom very small, but with bidet. Shower only. Shampoo etc. provided. Breakfast bar nice with a variety of options. Free parking in front of hotel in street. Guarded parking down the street , but didn't seem to be open on Sunday. Light blocking curtains just a tad too small. House cleaning forgot a couple of spots. Overall would go there again without hesitation.

"So handy for the central bus station"
After I'd booked this hotel I read some shockingly bad reports that had been posted about this hotel, and I went there with every intention of walking away, even though it was paid for, if the hotel, and rooms were as bad as I'd read. It WAS NOT bad, it was very good, with my room being clean, and airy, the staff could not have been more helpful, even 'phoning ahead and booking my next hotel for me when I left the following morning. Why would people give a hotel a bad name if it wasn't true ! Beats me, - they may have had a bad experience, but I certainly did not. I'd stay there again without any worry at all. Whilst it isn't 4 star it is good value for money for the traveler.

"Quaint Hotel"
My husband and I both love this hotel. The rooms are spacious but not fancy which is ok with us. They are very clean. The beds are not very soft. So if you like a hard mattress then you will be fine. There is a restaurant in the hotel. I am gluten free and vegan they have a few options. The wifi is very good. There is a small workout room sauna spa and pool so all the amenities that you may like while traveling. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. The staff is also very helpful and some speak a bit of English so we get by with out knowing any Spanish. Very quaint boutique hotel.

"Great hotel"
Nice hotel. Easy check in. Some of the employees speak English. The will charge your phone if it has a USB cord. Nice rooms and a great location. Right on the bus line. The hot tub and sauna were out of service the week we were there. The gym is small but functional. Breakfast was the same every day. They do have several English speaking channels on the TV.

"Good little hotel on the old part of town. "
Good hotel, very clean and modern. It's right in front of a little market on the old town. Neighborhood is a little old and maybe a bit dangerous, but we had no problems. The staff is good and attentious. The double room is very small, with a tiny bathroom and very small beds.. All in all, a good stay.

"Ten delightful days in central Montevideo"
Stayed ten nights in this hotel for a business trip followed by a few days holiday. Enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. If you are looking for a corporate bed factory then this is not the hotel for you - you will find the the usual big brand name hotels elsewhere in Montevideo. If you are looking for a funky boutique hotel then this most certainly is for you. It is located in the Ciudad Vieja, the old town of Montevideo and close to the Plaza Independencia, the main central square. There are plenty of good places to eat throughout the old town, although some close quite early in the evening and some are not open on Sundays. First impression is that the hotel is full of art by local artists. The architecture reflects the building's history and marble abounds. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the continental breakfast is ample. In summary, this is a delightful place to stay which added to our enjoyment of the city. I happily recommend it and would be delighted to stay there again in the future.

"Nice"
The hotel was nice, room was very good and clean. I'd put something on the windows 'cause sun's light wakes you up at 5 am. Staff was nice in the reception. Restaurant's staff should be nicer 😠. Good experience. You have all the acomodations of an apartment...

"Nice hotel close to dowtown Montevideo."
In general very good experience. The staff excellent, the breakfast, even thought is repetitive is very complete..The room excellent. The hotel may need a renovation to bring it up to a more modern look, I notice they are doing that for the work at the lobby. Even that everything is in working condition. I will return? yes. I will recommend ? yes.

Uruguay is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Uruguay, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Uruguay hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
