Stop-over hotel for return flight from Pittsburgh. Staff were pleasant, but young and somewhat inexperienced - not great resources for info. Food from organic restaurant in hotel (ate late dinner and breakfast there) was good. Carpet in 4th floor hallway needed cleaned or sanitized; it smelled like "monkey butt". Room was spartan, but nice and clean and spacious.

The Kimpton is a wonderful hotel in a great location in the centre of Pittsburgh. From the moment you are greeted at the valet to the final wave as you drive away, the staff throughout the hotel are highly attentive and friendly. The room was so comfortable we were sad to leave. The innovative design touches catch your eye at every turn. They host a wonderful happy hour every afternoon -- a great chance to catch a breath (and a glass or two of wine) before heading out for the evening. I would highly recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone visiting this lovely city!

Hotel used to be a federal reserve so the layout is funny, but great location, it's safe, and they have a great breakfast! Drinks are always available and some nights it's free popcorn. Only issue I had was randon strings of hair (not my hair) in my bed under the pillows.

This hotel is in the perfect location. Plenty of shops and restaurants are within walking distance. We had our dog with us and there were plenty of place to walk her to. The staff was wonderful. I definitely would stay at The Fairmont again.

Chock-full of universities, museums, and eclectic boutiques, Oakland abounds with cultural activities. Its Beaux-Arts complex, a 10-acre legacy of steel tycoon Andrew Carnegie, houses the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History. Visitors also find his “golden touch” at the famed Carnegie Mellon University. For delightful flora, pay a visit to the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
