"Extremely comfortable retreat in the jungle"
The rooms are beyond expectation. Huge, clean and new beautiful bathroom! We loved the atmosphere. The pool was great. There was never a bar tender at the pool though, which would have made it even better! Great place to stay while at Tikal.

"Monkeys by the pool"
Jungle Lodge was fantastic in every way. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful and attentive, and the location is unbeatable! After a long day exploring the Tikal ruins, we cooled off by the pool for happy hour and watched a troupe of monkeysplaying in the trees above us. The power is turned off at 10, but that makes for a nice quiet night.

"Location"
Completely mediocre hotel, nothing special or above average. It is all about the location, which is priceless. I recommend arriving to Tikal park around 3pm on Day 1, because the ticket will be valid for Day 1 and Day 2. Then explore the park for a couple of hours until closing time at 6pm. Stay one night here in Tikal, and on Day 2 wake up early to arrive to the park/ruins at 6am (30 minute walk from hotel). Stay and explore the park for as long as you can bear the heat/humidity, and then travel back to Flores for an evening flight back to Guatemala or continue exploring the region. The biggest disappointment of this hotel is how much potential is lost - a hotel in this location could be spectacular beyond imagination, but this hotel settles for being an over-priced opportunity to gouge tourists. It's fine, I understand. But recommendations: fix the showers so they operate like showers instead of faucets, check the rooms daily/weekly for any tiny holes in screens/doors that might allow bugs to enter (there were a few small holes in our screens), fix the suspended ceilings so that bugs can't enter through ceiling gaps, put flashlights on the keys so that guests have light when there is no power, have some quality control in the restaurant to make sure meats (and all food) are consistently cooked and handled properly (my burger was uncooked), improve quality while increasing prices instead of simply raising prices because you can

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Tikal National Park hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
