"Fair price for an economic stay in Manchester"
Overall I found the hotel quite reasonable. For the room rate the it is good value and there are some good facilities at the hotel if you just want relax there. I found that it is great access to the M60, M62 and M6 motorways, if you are wanting to go visiting places in that area of the North West. The Trafford Shopping Centre is only 10 minutes drive away. And the city centre of Manchester is about 20 minutes drive away also.

"Bowled us over"
We stayed here to watch cricket at Old Trafford, we were really impressed with the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, they let us leave our case for the day to check in later. The service was efficient when we came to check in. The room was lovely, the bed was enormous! It could have slept a family of four, it was incredibly comfortable too. The room was tidy and clean, great rainfall shower too. The hotel is in a great location, a couple of minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly station, and well placed for the centre of the city as well as trams to the cricket! We only stayed one night, but I wish it was more! We would definitely go back.

"Gorgeous hotel with great attention to detail"
We had a lovely stay overnight and used the spa facilities, which were lovely and much nicer than most hotel spas. The room was spacious and the bathroom was gorgeous. I would highly recommend it and wish we could have stayed longer.

Clayton Hotel, Manchester Airport

Outwood Lane, Manchester - Map

"Very convenient to Airport"
The Clayton is extremely convenient to the Airport, and also to the car rental drop-off area (10 min walk back). The lobby was always busy it seemed, but the staff was very helpful, even printing out a JFK boarding pass for me at the front desk. Also, they have a shuttle that will take you to whichever terminal you are flying out of, at no cost and which stops right out front of the hotel. All in all, Manchester is a great airport to fly into and out of England. (The RR station is connected via an enclosed, covered connector -- and although a long walk from the terminal after you exit Customs -- you can easily connect to trains throughout England. One note about the latter: it is a lot cheaper to buy your train tickets prior to landing (days or weeks ahead), since same-day ticket prices are much more expensive. (We were not confident about what time our plane might actually arrive, and so waited until the day of to purchase: a roughly $25 ticket for 2, turned into more like an $80 fare for two. So ... think about buying in advance, perhaps allowing 2-3 hours cushion before your train departure, and "enjoy" the terminal a while longer).

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
