We chose the Alex Hotel because it was close to the Anchorage Airport. Due to weather, we arrived about hours later than originally planned. Instructions said to call the hotel to arrange for the shuttle, but I tried several times to call and the line was always busy. Due to the number of peolle in our group, we had to take 2 taxis to get to the hotel. When we arrived, they had no explanation for the problem. After that the staff was very efficient in getting us to our rooms. Rooms were spacious and pleasant, and we had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was good, although the breakfast area was crowded and some of us had to eat in the lobby. Shuttle back to the airport was friendly and got us there in plenty of time.

This hotel is a few minutes from the airport (ANC) convenient but a little noisy from air and truck traffic. The rates in mid-September were reasonable. The staff was helpful in keeping the business center available.

We stay here every time we come to Alaska. We usually only stay one or two nights coming and going. I like the fact it has a Bistro that we can get food. We usually fly out to a remote part of Alaska the next day so the shuttle service is excellent.

I stayed at two different times for a total of three nights. The beds were comfortable and the room clean. It is a little dated but I don't really care about that. The staff was amazingly friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
