Considering a lot of the reviews I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was pretty clean. A bit outdated but everything in our room worked. The beach area was nice. The pool area could have had some lounge chairs. All in all it was a decent stay. BBQ was not cleaned out so my husband cleaned it really well after we used it. I do think they need more trash receptacles by the beach and near BBQ area so people won't throw garbage all over the ground .

So I was there for a long weekend seeing my son. The room I had was dog friendly. It was clean but does need a up grade but I didn’t see any bugs or anything. So it was good. The breakfast is good if you like Carbs. The only other thing besides carbs was hard boiled egg. They could use some yogurt or something else. But the choice of Carbs was alot. ( bread , muffins , pancakes , English muffins , cereal, oatmeal. Bagels. ) The staff was very unhelpful when I arrived early. Wouldn’t even check to see if the room was ready. Now come on. You could have at least faked it. But after that encounter everything else was fine. They where not overly friendly but not rude as the first one So I would say it’s a decent place. Is it worth what I paid?. No I dont think so. But it’s a tourist town and it’s summer in Michigan. So everything is very expensive. But it was cheaper than the other bigger hotels around Maybe a non pet friendly room would be better. The halls and the there places where nice. I didn’t swim in the pool. But lots of people were. I didn’t go to the beach the weather was not good.

This was the worse experience I have ever had. There was bedbugs on the pull out sofa. They wanted to give us another room we went and looked at it and it was even worse. The girl at the front desk was very rude and actually said I can’t do anything for you. She was not even welling to try.

Check in issues, but overall a good stay

Per Hotels.com, check in time was 3:00pm. We came from 3 hours away, so we didn’t arrive until about 4:30pm. Upon arrival, we had to wait in the lobby for about 10 minutes before someone came to help us. Once an attendant came, she informed us that our room was not ready, and we would need to wait 20 more minutes. We came back about 30 minutes later, and there was no attendant at the desk. We didn’t end up checking in until about 6:00pm. However, she did extend our checkout to 12:00pm (instead of 11:00am) for this mishap. Overall, for the price of the hotel, it was a decent room and it was wonderful being right on the water. The hotel had a very large and clean private beach.

Overall, OK beachfront property.

Just wish they were upfront about the pet fee. Hotels.com just said it's pet friendly. Still not a horrible price, but which was more upfront. It's $25 dog by the way. Some of the electrical outlets in the room didn't work; and the toilet was leaking. What would I say again for beachfront access for a good price? Yes, I would

The pool and hot tub were very clean, the lake is a short walk from the hotel. Cute little dining area. Very convenient having a private beach when traveling with small children. About 5 minutes away from town.

One employee was running entire hotel - concierge, cleaning duty, food preparation, etc. Room was not ready upon arrival. I was told room hasn't been cleaned and this was AFTER arriving two hours later than check in time. This was on top of standing in lobby and ringing service bell for 25 minutes before even being greeted. Once finally checked in, room was unsafe and filthy. Splattered food on the walls, crumbs on the floor, dirty sheets, dirty bathtub/shower and the room has a horrid smell. It was as if somebody had been living there and was forced out to vacate room for my family's reservation. Also, windows had no screens in them. Ended up cancelling reservation to stay elsewhere in the area.
