Hotel has a top location on a cliff high above the sea and steps from the ancient town and Roman Ruins. Location, location, location.
The problem it is old and not well maintained. The rooms look like the last time they were decorated was the '70s or '80s. Our first room was not clean, the bathroom door was off its tracks, several walls were pealing.
Our second room reminded us of Sparta. We always refer to our stay in the best hotel in Sparta. It was spartan. So was this one.
The mattress was very hard, the pillow very flat. However, the shower was good and so was the bathroom. The fixtures were old and a bit rusty. This could be a fine hotel, but will take a large investment to do it over. It is past refabicing and redecoration. It needs a wall to wall.
The good sides are the excellent views of the beach, the Roman amphitheater and the old town which includes the church tower. There is parking in front at very reasonable rate. It is a large simi-cirle hotel with beautiful reception and dining rooms, lots of travertine. The staff is small but willing.

Our friends, David and Sheila, booked your hotel due to its close proximity to the Joan XXIII hospital as my husband had heart issues while we were on holiday in Salou and we wanted to stay close by. Your staff with special mention to Raphael, were empathetic, knowledgable, and very professional. In a time when kindness is often taken for granted, we hope that you will, with whatever means you see fit, acknowledge these exemplary staff members.

Enjoyed a good night's sleep at the Hotel Lauria, chose an 'executive' room which basically means it has had a modern makeover. Very comfortable bed, nice quiet room in the back wth a (side) view of the sea. wifi a bit patchy but the room overall was good value and the hotel is very well located for exploring the lovely city of Tarragona.

We booked a one night stay at Mas La Boella because it was not far from the highway, and we needed to make an early start the next day. The hotel was an absolute delight, set on a country estate with olive groves, vineyards, and gardens. The room was state-of-the-art for hotel/spa design and dinner at the restaurant was outstanding. It happened to be our 35th wedding anniversary and Mas La Boella was the perfect place to celebrate the occasion. We can't wait to return.

Only stayed for one night - business trip to nearby Tarragona. Lovely boutique hotel housed in a converted monastery in the centre of the village. We ate in the restaurant - excellent local food and very good value for the quality. Although there is no bar as such , staff were happy to supply beer from the restaurant. Overall much better the staying in one of the usual chains.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tarragona possesses several very impressive Roman remains and an atmospheric medieval Old Town. Don’t miss the superb Cathedral, the Passeig Arqueòlogic, the Pretori Romà (birthplace of Pontius Pilate), the Roman amphitheatre and the archaeological museum. The Pont del Diable is one of the world’s finest and largest Roman aqueducts, four kilometres north of town. Tarragona also boasts good bars and restaurants.
