I had a one night stay at The Vulcan recently. I booked a single (bed) room which I wouldn't do again as the room and the bathroom were much smaller than expected. The décor is pleasing, the room was quiet of street noise but there was a herd of elephants in the room above me, most active after midnight.
The locality is good and flagging down a taxi the next morning didn't take long. I arrived by public transport so not sure of parking options - this could be an issue.
The breakfast (muesli) was nice but order tea instead of the coffee, if you like coffee that is.
I will stay here again but will book a larger room.

comfortable hotel with decent kitchen and lounge furniture. genuine 1 separate bedroom and lounge/dining that made it feel more like staying in an apartment than a boring old hotel room. older architecture really gives this place character! shower was good and hot water was good. had washing machine and dryer too. didnt have a balcony which would have been a nice addition

No problems with anything. The breakfast sanger was not that good it was very greasy and I did not order it again the next day but had breakfast out instead.
The hotel staff helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them to attend to. They were able to print out my excursion bus ticket which was very helpful

We got upgraded to a loft room which was spread across two levels. We didn't actually use the lower living area and probably preferred a room on a single level. Decor inside the rooms is inspired with mid century furniture. The beds are ridiculously comfy. Our room was bright and had a separate bath and shower and super king bed. Highlight was the rooftop pool which we had virtually to ourselves. It does get shady in the afternoon so head up in the morning or early arvo.

Staff were lovely and welcoming. Very clean and comfortable room. Good location in Chinatown, very close to Darling Harbour and CBD. Only complaint was wifi. Seems trivial, but in the age of smartphones, Wifi is SO important to travellers when data roaming is ridicously expensive. Wifi was unstable and didn't work at all in second day. Had to go to shopping centre across road to access email and travel docs. Shame because otherwise great place to stay.

This is a reasonably priced hotel still walkable to Central Train station. Small queen room but with ok amenities with everything working and in good condition. Free breakfast cereals and toast in the morning downstairs with juice and filtered coffee is another money saving bonus. Wifi is free and of usual hotel speeds.
If you are a light sleeper the rooms at the rear of the hotel are next to the main railway line from Central to Redfern. Train noise does continue through the night, although I was staying over Anzac Day where there are many more early morning trains than usual.

This bustling center is the pulse of this cosmopolitan city. George Street serves as Sydney's principal street, and is a hive of shopping arcades and restaurants. Visit the astounding Sydney Opera House, which boasts unmatched views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Be sure to check out the vibrant Circular Quay, which is home to buskers, a variety of restaurants, and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
