Easy walk into Stratford on Avon but the room was a hike from reception. Nice large room when we got there, basic bathroom amenities, i.e. no body lotion but shampoo and bath gel. Comfortable extra large bed.

Quick check in with friendly staff.
Room was large (executive room) with lots of storage although some of the wardrobes are too high to use.
Loved the leisure facilities spa, pool and gym.
Would definitely recommend

Had a lovely two nights here - large room, and welcome bar food available at 11.15pm after seeing Cymbeline. Highly recommended for its location and beautiful riverside terrace. Small pool, but gym, sauna and steam room. Just a pity the August weather so awful - too cold and wet to enjoy the outside!

I was looking for something traditionally English which was in the country but not so far away that I could not get to locations like Warwick Castle or the Coventry area. This fit the bill. Mercure has given it a professional look while preserving much of the traditional aspects of the building and property.

An old country inn full of character. Stairs to our bedroom rather steep as you would expect of an old inn. Bed was comfortable and shower excellent. Window needed intention as difficult to open. Two Iphones and two Ipads could not connect to the WI Fi, but this was possible in the bar. Very good price and we would go back to the Blue Boar.

Hotel staff: the manager should be extremely proud of them, they were excellent.
The bed: hmmm!! It was a single and what appeared to be a fold up bed put together which was a little uncomfortable.
Room was clean.... Just the bed was a problem.
We used the hotel as a stopping point returning from our holiday in Cornwall back home to Yorkshire.

William Shakespeare gets top billing in this Tudor town; the Bard's early and family life are on display at Shakespeare's Birthplace and Anne Hathaway's cottage. Visitors should take the opportunity to attend a performance of the Royal Shakespeare Company at its recently revitalized flagship theatre. Make sure to view the River Avon, the town's other star attraction.
