The heavy door in my room is quite noisy when closed. For a beautiful old charming place for a hotel, there should be at least air conditioning and small fridge in every room. I can also hear the noises in the corridor whenever someone is getting into their room, and again the loud bang as they close their doors. Overall it's a nice place to stay because of the old character of the building and location. Waitress in the bar area is a little bit looking like she's stressed when serving, makes me wonder why. Breakfast is relatively very basic for the price I paid. Went to dine one night and nothing really special from the menu. A little bit disappointed in that aspect. I give it a 3.5 star rating.

Pleasant one night stay. Good location just outside the town centre, so short walk to shops restaurants and other attractions. Room nice enough, although slightly tired looking for the price of the stay. Parking on Saturday afternoon was difficult, so information in advance about how/where to park would have been helpful. Use of gym and pool in sister hotel across the road was good. good breakfast, both continental buffet and choice of cooked food.

We stayed two nights. Staff were excellent, The room was very good. We will stay again early next year and can recommend the hotel to all. The Saturday night cost was £269 which was high and the Sunday night was more reasonable at £119, less than half the price... we seemed to be 'penalised' by the fact there was a wedding on the Saturday and they must have booked a lot of rooms.

We were told that breakfast was not included but we were sure we had booked it but our confirmation e mail was silent on this aspect, so we have had to pay for breakfast and we would not have booked this price if it had not included breakfast!

A hotel full of charm and character. If you have a disability ensure you ask for a room close to reception on the ground floor. Our room was far away and stairs to get to the room. Although I had requested on booking ground floor.
Overall the hotel was nice and leisure facilities a bonus.

Really happy with our stay. We were more than satisfied and would recommend highly. Good range of facilities with well priced, good tasting food in the bar, an above average choice of breakfast menu. Very friendly and helpful staff. No fuss, no hassles. Intend to try other venues out in future and use the gym now I know it's there.

William Shakespeare gets top billing in this Tudor town; the Bard's early and family life are on display at Shakespeare's Birthplace and Anne Hathaway's cottage. Visitors should take the opportunity to attend a performance of the Royal Shakespeare Company at its recently revitalized flagship theatre. Make sure to view the River Avon, the town's other star attraction.
