We had a great stay at the Stowhof and my kids loved the pool and hot tub after a long day of skiing. We also liked the location which is off the beaten path but close enough to Stowe mountain where it was no more than a five min drive up Rte 108.
Also, Fritz's bar has great food at a reasonable price and a great beer selection (ie: Alchemist and 14th Star among others). The locally made vodkas were also a big hit and we ended up taking home a two bottles.
We will definitely be back to the Stowehof!

We needed a last minute hotel for a climbing trip and found Town & Country on Expedia. The room was fairly standard. It was comfortable & clean, with easy access to the car. The staff was very friendly, and the complimentary breakfast was great. On ourour second night moved to a larger room, which was very spacious and had a great view. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to climbers and skiers coming to the area.

We enjoyed our time away skiing Stowe , this hotel was ideal for this trip , we stayed in the older lodge area which was a bit outdated . the bowling alley and main lodge area was impressive . If we return we will make sure we stay in newer units Which were above the bowling alley

We stayed a weekend in January and enjoyed the accommodations. The hotel was very clean. They had various sitting areas in the lobby including in front of their very large gas fireplace which was very nice to sit in front in the evening. They also had games, etc for entertainment. My husband and daughter enjoyed the hot tub and pool but mentioned the water was a bit cloudy. The room was comfortable. We brought our dog and they had were very pet friendly having poop bags at the counter and a specific garbage can outside to deposit the full bags. Breakfast buffet was good and included a variety of hot and cold offerings. The staff were all friendly and having a bar and restaurant on the premises was very convenient. Local attractions were easy to get to and shuttle buses were also available. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Commodore and would stay there again if we return to Stowe.

The economy in Stowe is largely tourism-based. Home to the world-famous Trapp Family Lodge, the three-and-a-half star resort is managed by the youngest son and one of the grandchildren of Maria and Georg von Trapp. The von Trapps were immortalized in the movie, The Sound of Music. The lodge also hosts the Vermont Mozart Festival.
