Booked this hotel with expedia because of the great reviews and location. Expedia quoted me one price but when I got to the hotel to check in, they quoted me a different price which was a $20 dollar increase. When asked about the increase i was told they were just holding that amount for extra amenities like movies and room service. I was only there for a half day stay...checked in at 9pm and checked out at 9am. I did not use any extra amenities so when I checked out, I asked for my receipt. The receptionist at the desk said since I booked my hotel with expedia they would email my receipt. I never received my receipt from this hotel and I was charged the extra $20 dollars. I don't know if I would stay there again, the room was quite spacious and very clean but the breakfast was terrible. If I wanted artifical food, I would of been better off going to McDonald's for breakfast.

Expedia totally messed up my reservation by NOT guaranteeing my room for 2 double beds. I requested that as a condition of the reservation 3 times before confirming with the Expedia rep. When we arrived, only a King room was available. The WONDERFUL front desk manager helped me find alternate accommodations and cancel the Expedia reservation. The hotel was beautiful and we regret trying to book with Expedia. The staff at the Marriott Birmingham are top notch !!

My husband and I never take time for ourselves, go any dates or put ourselves first. We decided for our 10 year anniversary we would at least take one night out just for ourselves. We chose Candlewood suites because it was affordable and close to home. We were very pleased and surprised at the great accommodations we received, especially at the price. It was cheaper that a single studio room you get with some hotels yet it had a fully functional and stocked kitchen, the bathroom was roomy and well lit, the bed was luxurious. We really wished we would have stayed for more than one night. I am very surprised this is just a 2 star hotel. Maybe because the hall ways need updating?!?!?? We will be back.

The area popularly known as Southeast Birmingham comprises a major metropolitan growth corridor along US Route 280, one of the state's busiest roadways. Numerous shopping centers line this popular and congested highway, including The Summit, whose upscale tenants include Saks Fifth Avenue, Belk, and Anthropologie. Hwy 280 provides access to the cities of Vestavia Hills, Hoover, and Mountain Book.
