Our stay at Canto Del Sol was just what my husband and I needed! We felt pampered for the entire week. The staff went out of their way to be friendly, helpful and kind. Our room was neat as a pin and very comfortable. The ocean surf woke us each morning. The food was varied and tasty. The drinks were wonderful, a special thanks to Diego for the Spanish Coffee! The pool was perfect-- warm, spacious, with lots of room for peaceful swimming and shallow areas for tanning and relaxing. Coconut trees and beautiful flowers and shrubs add to the ambience. This hotel has thought of everything: cooking classes, fun entertainment, even paperback books to be borrowed along with the crisp clean blue pool towels. Our vacation here was one of the best ever--and we've been married 32 years!

Easy access to bus. Great, friendly staff. Tasty, cheap breakfast in courtyard. Rooms are better than the website portrays. Great tacos down the street. Check out Mis Compadres restaurant across the street. Great coffee next door with good wifi.

This resort was fabulous in all respects: the property, food, staff, location...all of it exceeded our expectations.
Most deserving of honourable mention are the hard-working, warm and welcoming staff. We were treated exceptionally well, and the positive, friendly attitude of the staff toward the guests truly made our vacation wonderful. The waiters and greeters (notably Juan Pec, Alonso, Brenda) who greeted us at the fabulous breakfast buffet every morning started to feel like friends by the end of our stay.
The food at all restaurants was top-notch: lots of variety and flavour, and it was always easy to get a seat. The hard part was refraining from over-eating. Pool- and beach-side service was excellent. Nobody ever has to go hungry or thirsty here!
The property was beautiful. Our room was well-appointed and very clean, as were the grounds. This property is an easy 20 to 30 minute walk to the old town of Puerto Vallarta, or a cheap and interesting bus ride. There was never a problem finding a lounge chair at the pool or beach at any time of day.
The resort has a full program of activities day and night. We had a lot of fun taking part in everything from tequila tasting to salsa dancing, from yoga near the beach to aquafit classes. Some of the evening entertainment was wonderful, such as the cirque-like aqua show and the Mexican fiesta with dancing and mariachi band, but some other shows were mediocre.

We got the economic room which is a small room with a bed for 2 with A/C. We were there to explore so all we needed was a inexpensive place to sleep with out being boiling hot. So it was perfect for what we needed. Bathroom was good. Staff were great. Breakfast was a plate of fresh fruit and toast, a little something to start the day. Nice terrace on the top roof to look over the area. It gave us a good view of a lightning storm. They had a safe on the main floor where we put our passports. It was a good place to stay and super close to down town and the water front.

The hotel is close to the beach public access (about ten minutes walking depending on which entrance you use) and it's across from a supermarket and the bus stops right there. It's located in a commercial area where they sell car parts but there's no food nearby so dining options are closed to none. It can get very noisy, I rarely slept well because other guests were partying and playing music until late or there's an alarm that go off several times a night. That was the only negative part for me.

Because of the surrounding resorts, this area’s beaches are among the most crowded in Puerto Vallarta. Playa las Glorias’ gray-sand beach is popular for boating and parasailing. Around hotel row, street vendors hawk silver jewelry and other small souvenirs. Nearby, daily soccer matches take place at the municipal sports stadium, which also has a top-notch track and field facility.
