Really helpful and pleasant staff. The room was huge, clean and tidy and had a kitchen if you needed it.

"Good central hotel great for getting around. "
Only there for two nights but the hotel was adequate for our needs. Very noisy road but this is the location not the fault of the hotel.

"Great Hotel and Location"
We were very pleased with this hotel, would recommend it, and would return if were again in Madrid. (We had a superior room so we could have an outside window.) Comments: -spacious and attractive room; great bathroom, although shower control was difficult to adjust in our room -very clean and comfortable -we walked to everything we visited from here and the neighbourhood itself was vibrant and eclectic. -the rooftop patios were beautiful, along with the views; the lobby/lounge area was pleasant and unique -the front desk staff were OUTSTANDING - very pleasant, and went of their way to help when we had a request or needed help. Our only recommendation would be to invest in an ice machine!!! It's not that Spaniards and most other travellers don't drink...,,, We thought Praktik Metropol was well priced, given the location and quality of rooms. Thank you for making our visit to your beautiful city even more enjoyable.

"Location, location, location"
Quite happy with the proximity to everything from the Gran Via to Puerta del Sol to Plaza Mayor. The Sol Metro stop is very close, with access by elevator from the plaza or through El Corte Ingles department store nearby. Walking distance to the Prado, continuing on to Reina Sofia before Metro-ing back. It was a little longer trip to Palacio Real but very manageable. I will admit we took a cab there due to weather and the fact that the Opera Metro station leaves you with still a bit of a walk to the palace. Even with light rains, we still strolled to Cava Baja, Mercado San Miguel, Chocolateria San Gines for meals (yes, churros con chocolate qualifies as a meal when on vacation) without any difficulties. Staff were great! They were extremely helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Miriam at the front desk who was an absolute gem on the swing shift, helping with all kinds of questions and some printing. The quadruple room had ample space and bunk beds which the kids loved! We opted to prepay for breakfast which is rare for us, but was so inexpensive, we felt we could not go wrong. It turned out to be a good decision for a few reasons: 1) Its more a meal of necessity in Spain and its a rush in most cafes, 2) a hot breakfast before venturing out in the rain buoys kids' (and wives') spirits immensely, 3) the fare was quite good (fresh fruit, cheese, jamon, eggs, bacon/sausage, grilled chicken, tortilla espanola, and Nespresso-brewed espresso).

"The hotel location was perfect!"
Hotel was right on a side corner of one of the most transited street in Madrid (Avenida Gran Via) Room was ok, clean, a little tight but ok for two nights, we didn't plan to stay too much at the hotel, convenient cafeteria right down stairs, service and food just ok, you can find a lot of very nice places in you way to Sol. If you travel with friends bathroom doors wont give to much privacy when you need to go :) they stay kind of open cause they're glass doors.

"Nice place, great location"
Great place to stay if in town for short period. It's in a perfect location, the staff were super helpful (helping with bus schedule, directions, recommendations, etc) the rooms were clean and well kept. Only complaint was the size, the bathrooms are tiny and the rooms, as well as the elevator. It was almost comical trying to fit our luggage and us into that elevator.. but what can you do? Would recommend this for anyone going to Madrid for a few days!

Sol is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Sol, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Sol hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
