The hotel is in a good location for visiting The University of Maryland. Very convenient to downtown, nice shopping and restaurants. Didn't like that the only parking is valet and cost $20.00 a day. Also, no refrigerator in the rooms.

This is an expensive hotel for what you get. Plus side includes comfortable bed, clean room, and decent staff. Minus side includes just OK and dated room, add on charges for parking, WiFi, bottled water in room (and tap water tasted awful).

It was a great experience - the hotel's almost brand new and the service is warm and friendly. The room was lovely and spacious. Just one minor irritant - I booked via Expedia and the hotel seemed much less than full. I still got a room with a view of the parking garage next door.
Other than that, everything else was superb. The location is very central and the parking facilities mentioned above are really convenient and inexpensive.

Stayed overnight for a morning funeral. No complaints. Room nicely appointed; staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was NOT included bc we booked thru Expedia rather than with the hotel. That should have been clearer. Breakfast was also a bit confusing bc there was no buffet as expected; you had to order. It worked out and was delicious although seating and process was a little disorganized and everything posted wasn't on the menu. How can you run out of bacon for breakfast. Next time, seat guests and explain... But they were awfully nice and responsive.

Staff was great. Homewood shares building and facilities with Hampton Inn, which I did not expect. They charge $20 per night for valet parking, which feels steep for Silver Spring. There is no lounge, and the hotel across the street charged $17.50 for a top shelf cocktail. It did serve as a good base for visiting SS and Wheaton, as well as being close to the Metro and not too far from College Park.

Staff was warm and welcoming. The room was immaculate, cozy, and quiet, enabling me to sleep really well! The bed was comfortable, and the room was well designed: It's the perfect suite for the business traveler! Breakfast the next morning was satisfactory. My only challenge was parking (which was not the hotel's fault). If accurate it's a 2-star hotel, it should really be at least a 3-star because of the civilized, slightly upscale experience it provides.
Parking: Hotel charges $10 for parking. I parked in adjacent public garage, which is free after 6 PM, but because I failed to purchase parking by 730 AM next morning, I received a $45 ticket! Hindsight's always 20/20, right? I should have simply paid the $10 for parking at the hotel!
