"They charge for parking"
The hotel was very adequate, clean, modern installations, friendly staff. We were only a bit surprised when they told us that to park in the underground garage there was a 8 dolar daily fee. This is surprising because this hotel is not located in the downtown area of a crowded city. This is in the outskirts of Puna DEL Este, a small summer resort, and it was not even summer! There is plenty of parking all around in the streets, but being that we had a rental car, and that rental cars in Uruguay have onerous charges should anything happen to the car, we figured we'd pay the 8 dolar fee and park in the garage anyway. When we drove down the ramp, we realized the car would not be able to turn into the garage space due to the steep ramp and tight turning radius. So even though we would have paid, we were not able to use the garage. The architect that designed that garage entrance should be called to fix this.

"Very Basic but great location"
Before booking, I had read the reviews and had seen the pictures so i wasn't expecting much. The guys at front desk were very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself isn't nothing special. The rooms have old furniture and not the most comfortable beds. As most reviews say, the wifi signal was weak but when you are in Punta, why be in the room. The location is great. You are about 10 meters from the main strip, 2 blocks from one beach and about 4 blocks from the marina to the east. We went for NYE and booked a few weeks in advanced so we paid a very hefty price ($700/night). Not worth it at all but had not much of a choice since all other hotels were either booked or required a few nights as minimum stay. Again, if you just need a place to crash with the most basic requirements and don't have any other choice, you can't go wrong (location) but if you can airbnb or find a nicer hotel that might be a few blocks away from the strip (which really isn't far since the town is pretty small), I would recommend you do that instead. Main thing, book well in advanced, especially if you are planning to spend NYE there. The town is very very pricey. Expect Las Vegas, New York prices.

Hotel facilities and staff were nice. Breakfast was very good. Pool and SPA were small. I wanted to get some sun, but the pool was mostly on the shade. Parking is on the street. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

"Nice place, great location, superb staff"
Pros The hotel is in a great location, close to the beach and main streets. The rooms are clean and the staff is extra nice. Cons The bathroom is very small, as in "hitting the sink with your shoulder while sitting on the toilet" small. The glasses and mugs at breakfast were hardly ever clean.

San Rafael is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in San Rafael, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your San Rafael hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
