"Small rooms"
This hotel is in a good location but beware of the small rooms. Our room was so small we had to take turns moving around. The bathroom did not have a regular door (loose fitting barn door style) so it provided little privacy since the toilet was about 8 feet from the bed. The sink wasn't even in the bathroom but in the corner of the suite with poor lighting and no counter space.

"Nice area but the hotel could use some TLC."
Great area but the hotel and room could definitely be updated and would benefit from a deep clean.

"Family Fun Trip!!"
This hotel is perfect location for nightlife! The entire family had fun. Comic-con was due to start the day after we left so there was a lot of stuff going on in the area. The ballpark is a block away and they open the gates so people can walk in and see the park when no games are going on. The battleships are amazing to see! La Jolla Cove was also great place to visit. The Cove has sea lions, snorkeling is great there or just enjoying the beach.

Room was a bit dated and the hallway had a electrical smell to it, but the staff was great and the rooftop pool was exceptional.

"Ok place if you just plan to sleep there."
Room was very small. There was no more parking available so had to find a spot on the street or park in a lot 3 blocks away. Would be fine for someone who didn't drive. Who was only planning to just sleep there.

"Great bargain for the price!"
We stayed there for 5 nights, and this place was exactly as advertised... a clean & comfortable room, close to SDSU. If you are in town to set your child up for school in the San Diego area and are on a budget, this is the perfect hotel for you - it's a modest facility with a clean shower and comfortable bed. Lodge of La Mesa delivered just that! I do want to point out that this is not a resort, therefore do not expect to stay there to "enjoy the amenities", keep your expectations real.
