"Nice hotel with a few quirks, strong fragrances"
Some things you need to know about this hotel: The only parking is paid valet parking. You can only approach the front of this hotel from one direction. The inside lobbuy and common areas are absurdly dark. They use fragrances and scents very heavily throughout the building including your room. Few accessible electrical and USB outlets. Internet is OK.

"Hotel Emma in Pearl District of San Antonio"
The Hotel Emma offers visitors a glimpse into San Antonio of the past while offering first class accommodations, service and dining. The hotel is house in the old Pearl Brewery building where salvaged pipes, machines and cement are juxtaposed with old carpets, leather furniture and textiles to create an inviting and inspiring welcome for guests. The staff adds to the warm welcome with their attentiveness, helpfulness and interest in sharing the story of the hotel. Amenities include morning coffee and fresh baked goods in the lobby, bikes to use along the Riverwalk trail, and a pool for a cool dip in the afternoon or under the stars. The location in the Pearl district offers easy access to fine restaurants and shops on foot as well as to downtown convention sites without being in the hustle and bustle of the Riverwalk area. The hotel restaurant Supper offers excellent breakfast date as well as lunch and dinner options.

"Close to downtown"
The hotel was good the best thing about it was that it was close to the riverwalk and the mall, but no wow factor about it. The rooms were inexpensive, so I basically got what I paid for.

I stayed here with my daughter who is in a wheelchair. We only had two items that we weren't thrilled with. 1) the carpet on the third floor is very hard to push a wheelchair down. 2) On Sunday when we went down to breakfast at 9:30 am there was little left. When I asked the attendant if there were more bagels she replied "no, nothing, we are shutting down". It was the only staff person I encountered who wasn't helpful or accommodating. When breakfast is offered until 10 am it shouldn't be shutting down at 9:30. Other than that this hotel was awesome. The rooms are large and very well laid out for a handicapped person to maneuver in a wheelchair, the beds were comfortable and they had sufficient pillows. The cleaning staff were very polite and helpful. Having access to a full kitchen meant we did not have to eat out for every meal. We will have several more follow-up appointments in San Antonio and will definitely stay here.

"Amazing Hotel in a great location."
I had an amazing experience at this hotel. The views of the Riverwalk are tremendous, as well as the rooftop pool. The staff was first class and the amenities were outstanding. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in San Antonio.

"Very nice hotel. Noise and Parking can be an issue"
Loved the historic hotel. Very nice rooms and a perfect location. The hotel is steps away from the Alamo and the Riverwalk Mall, and the Riverwalk itself. Check in was fast and simple and the staff was amazing. The only downside is that being a historic building in the heart of downtown, there is a LOT of street noise even on the third floor. During the day this wasn't an issue, but at night it can be bothersome. This was especially true on the Saturday night of my stay. It was pretty loud out even at midnight. That being said I was still able to get a good night's sleep once the sound died down a bit. The only other Con is parking. There is no parking at the hotel. You have to park at one of the parking garages downtown. They are pretty close to the hotel. However, when I arrived all the parking garages were full. I had to circle the area for a good 30 to 45 minutes just to find a parking spot. The garages also have no in or out privileges. So I would plan on parking your vehicle and walking everywhere or taking Uber if you need to go further away from the Riverwalk for something. This is not the hotel's fault by any means, but just be aware of the parking situation if staying here.

    Explore San Antonio

Visitor-friendly San Antonio provides a glimpse into the past – and a place to party. City planners designed the downtown core with sightseers in mind. Here historic landmarks (ever heard of the Alamo?) sit a stone’s throw from the Riverwalk and its restaurant-bar-cafe bonanza.

Join the throngs who pilgrimage to the Alamo, a fortified mission where nearly 200 Texan rebels died fighting for independence from Mexico in 1836. The site is surprisingly small, and surrounded by kitschy amusements like Davy Crocket’s Wild Ride. Four more isolated missions can be found in San Antonio Missions National Historic Park.

Take a break along the Riverwalk, a recessed canal landscaped with upscale hotels, gardens and more eateries than imaginable. Stroll alongside or hop a river cruiser. Shoppers should check out the Mercado, a Mexican handicraft market hosting a couple of Tex-Mex cantinas. For a bit of culture, visit the San Antonio Museum of Art, the Institute of Texan Cultures and the King William Historic District. Sea World provides thrill rides and orca shows.
