Hotel Aeropuerto was the first hotel near SJO that we patronized when we began visiting Costa Rica five years ago. We enjoyed the expansive and well-manicured jungle grounds which we frequently walked. Then we broke away and started staying at other hotels. We came back because of the always-helpful and welcoming staff, great meals in a lovely restaurant, and large rooms with desk, table and chairs. The hotel and restaurant are wide open and airy with jungle views everywhere you look. When you add in free shuttle and breakfast, the price rivals all the other hotels we tried. Nearly all the trees and plants have plaque with its identifying name. The rooms are a bit dated, but quaint, inviting and always clean. It remains our transit hotel of choice!

Lovely hotel with terrific home cooked breakfast! Great patio for work or relaxation. Excellent and reasonable restaurant next door with friendly and knowledgeable waiter named Ronny, who speaks English for those travelers who don't speak Spanish.

Hotel is a perfect spot for an overnight before flying out as it is very close to the airport and within walking distance to a shopping mall and several restaurants, also just 3 minutes away driving for car rental companies, that made very easy to return the rental car we had prior departure.
Very clean, organized, with a modern style and had everything we needed. The only small issue we had is that our room was very close to the elevator and it chimed every time it opened on the floor. No biggie.
The two girls at front desk at night were excellent, very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
