"Modern rooms in a charming ancient building"
Goldgasse is medieval alley-like street in Old Town that has been occupied by merchants for centuries. Nettled on this street, Hotel Goldgasse is a very modern hotel in an ancient building. Rooms are super clean, beds are comfy, bathrooms are very up-to-date, showers are fabulous, and the location in the center of Old Town makes sight-seeing in Salzburg easy. It has a small lift (take it to the reception area on the second level) and the hotel staff are excellent and speak English with ease. Our only complaint was the lack of air conditioning. We visited in mid-July and the days were quite warm, so the room was warm even with windows open. The nights, however, were cool and despite a bit of outside noise through the open windows, we slept very comfortably. This is a great boutique hotel with a small number of charming rooms. We recommend it.

"Older hotel lots of character fantastic location"
I really enjoyed my stay here. This is an older hotel with lots of character. My single room was definitely small but worked for me. The staff across the board was friendly and very helpful. Location is fantastic - hard to imagine better if you want to explore the old town of Salzburg. Breakfast was very good with a pleasant dining area inside or very nice outdoor area to eat. I would definitely stay here again if I have the chance to return to Salzburg.

"Nice place close to Mirabell Palace"
The Urban Stay Salzburg was in a great location for sight-seeing. A quick walk through the beautiful Mirabell Gardens and you were at the edge of the Altstadt. It is close many places to eat. The rooms are small but clean, with showers in room. We found the beds a little short, but comfortable. The hotel is close to a train line, which didn't bother us, but might if you are a light sleeper.

"Nice boutique hotel"
Location was excellent and the room was large, especially by European standards. Had a wifi and TV issue which was fixed by the next day. Staff worked hard to fix that evening, even the owner got involved, but it was just one of those things that couldn't get fixed without some technical expertise. The room was great except it had no AC. which wasn't an big issue with the nice alpine breezes and a pedestal fan...ceiling fans would have been better for us but the pedestal fan got the job done.

"Close to the station"
We went to Salzburg by train from Germany so it was very convenient. Chair of the room was dirty and there was no pot for drinks. But we had free water bottle. I expected food view but the room we stayed did not have it. Overall, it was comfortable to stay.

This hotel was a nice surprise. We booked a 5-person suite and expected a small room with two double and one single bed. But we got a small suite with two room plus our ensuite - kids in one room; parents in the other. The hotel was extremely clean and the small problems we had were handled quickly. Breakfast was good but cooked-to-order eggs were only offered when one particular staff person was on duty. In our four days at the hotel, she is the only one that offered cooked-to-order eggs. The hotel is walking distance to everything in the heart of the city and there are many restaurants and shops nearby. There is also a small supermarket close by. A mini-fridge would have been very helpful for us as our daughter has several, severe food allergies and we always bring back up food for her. Check in is also dicey late in the day as the front desk is not staffed 24/7. If you arrive after 6pm the keys and a note are left on a table outside the main door of the hotel. If you are unfamiliar with the city it is nice to have someone at the front desk to help orient you to food, parking, etc.

"Good location good breakfast, That's about it."
Hotel located near the central station and not too far from the old city. Breakfast was good and tasty (love the bacon) That's the only 2 good things about this hotel. Our bed mattress seem like they've been run over by the 10 wheeler a few times, they were thin and very uncomfortable. The room we had was long but narrow but what was even smaller was the shower, if you're a big guy leave the screen opened. I'd still recommend this place to person who's not picky about room condition and get location in exchange.

Salzburg is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Salzburg, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Salzburg hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
