"No air conditioning in March"
Our room (4th floor superior double ) was BOILING hot. When we queried this we were told the outside temperature was not hot enough to trigger the air conditioning. We pointed out that the description said air conditioning but still they could not do anything. It is much too noisy to open the windows when in the room and made little difference to overall temperature if we opened them when out. They eventually offered us another room but we had already spent 3 nights in it and didn't want the upheaval, not being certain that the next room would be any better. HOWEVER, Excellent hotel, very clean, very good restaurant. Very easy bus route to airport. Salzburg centre 10 minutes away. Fabulous. Lovely and cultured!

"Good overall experience"
First of all, the good thing about this hotel is its just next to Salzburg train station! I believe many travellers arrived by train. Secondly, the room was ready and we could even checked in before noon! Good customer service at the reception too! And next to the hotel is a shopping mall with McD and Starbucks. Therefore, you can get your coffee and breakfast just outside the hotel. It is a good walking distance to the city centre where all the attractions are. The room is clean and spacious and looked like it was renovated recently. It was modern and new. The wifi is also fast. We enjoyed our stay here and impressed with its overall service and cleanliness.

Really enjoyed our few days in Saltzburg. Beautiful city with plenty to see including Mozart's home and of course Sound of Music settings! Visited the surrounding mountains and lakes which were stunning.

"Get an executive floor room"
Stayed in Salzburg for 8 days. Not close to center - it's by the train station. You can take a bus or drive to the center of town. The hotel is nice - very nice common areas, spa / sauna / fitness / pool. The executive floor (business rooms) is very nice. The other floors look run down and I think the rooms are bad. But the business rooms are renovated with wooden floors - very nice. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is mediocre - nice variety, but not very high quality. Restaurant people very nice. Parking is in an adjoining public garage, access directly to the hotel, but costs 16 eur / 24 hrs. Convenient.

"Fab location"
The location, breakfast & helpful staff were excellent. I asked to move to be on the same floor as my friend which they did, unfortunately I was put in a room previous occupied by smokers - it was eye watering! Sadly the smoking ban in Austria is not as it is in the U.K. It was also quite noisy outside the hotel. Had a really good stay tho.

"Fantastic little hotel."
I am a budget traveller and I got a great rate for 3 nights at this hotel and it was much better than I expected. The room and bathroom were very large and immaculately clean. It also had a small fridge, microwave and some cutlery and the complimentary buffet breakfast was also excellent. Salzburg is a beautiful old town with lots of historic sites and if you are a skier there is also a daily free shuttle bus to Flachau (around 1 hour away) which I can recommend as the ski resort has lots of good intermediate runs and plenty of Apre ski huts all over the mountain. I can also recommend a visit to Europark which is a very nice shopping centre only 4k from town. The TV also had some English language channels (CNN, BBC, Euronews & Bloomberg). One thing to be aware of is the hotel has a machine check-in out the front which seemed to confuse people but it is connected to the Hostel next door so you can simply go to the Hostel reception next door to check-in if you like. Don't be put off by the attached Hostel (I think it is a student Hostel) as it is as clean and well presented as the Hotel and is nothing like the seedy Hostels you often see near central train stations.

"Great location"
Centrally located and traditional style hotel with some quirkiness, which is fun. Rooms at front are noisy particularly as hotel heating was on full and aircon was not being switched on till April, so had to have windows fully open to cool down room....then you get traffic and noise from nearby nightclub. Avoid room 204. We were moved to back of hotel which was much quieter. Buffet breakfast at €26 was steep so we opted for the Cafe Alstatdt option which had enough choice and was reasonably priced. Staff very helpful overall. Would stay here again but ensuring room at back next time. Located right in heart of city centre so walking to all key locations easy. Myriad of shopping alleys and courtyards so no shortage of choice. Recommend Triangle restaurant. Good food, service and atmospher but need to book ahead. Took the private Sound of Music tour as we were party of 7. Great fun. Driver was very informative and made it highly enjoyable despite the rain.... Lovely city.would definitely recommend.

"Great hotel in walking distance of the Old Town."
Good hotel and excellent location for walking into the Alt Stadt. Perfect time of year to visit - with the Christmas market in full swing. Breakfast was great - worth the extra cost - and the staff were very helpful to cater for a vegan breakfast. A kettle in the room would have been nice - but think that is perhaps our English norm, not the Austrian!

"Business in motors"
This is a good business hotel. Its in the middle of all the motor franchises in Salzburg and the owner is a petrol head, the hotel being a shrine to Austrian motor racing, and Joachim Rindt in particular. Room comfortable, breakfast good, very clean and an attached Bierstube with resident characters

Salzburg is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Salzburg, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Salzburg hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
