Booked this last minute was pleasantly surprised. Location was lovely staff were very helpful. The only downside was we had to get taxis everywhere. Bus stop was 30 minute walk and train station was further away. Had we'd realised then we would have hired a car, which we will do next time we go.

The hotel is in the center of the medieval city of Sait Paul de vence. The staff helped us with luggage and park the car. The restaurant is very nice but a bit pricey and very few high sofisticated choices . Overall great experience

We stayed at La Grande Bastide for only one night, but everything about it was pleasing and enjoyable. From the moment we checked in until the time we left, everything seemed to have been curated with care. I would describe La Grande Bastide as more of an inn than a hotel - it didn't have the amenities that you would expect in a 4-5 star hotel - like 24 hour food, a bar, a fitness facility. But from my experience that adds to its charm. Lovely spot that I would highly recommend.

Just returned from 5 days at St Paul de Vence. The accommodation was excellent, the bedroom has everything you need, it was impeccably clean and the owners/staff are extremely friendly.
The location is perfect for the airport, local village, supermarket and of course you are in any of the prime locations within 30 minutes. We even drove through to Italy following a trip to Monaco which literally took just 20 minutes. You must visit St Paul de Vence village it is just beautiful with great restaurants and traditional French village houses/shops.
The hotel breakfast is great and well worth the 8€ per person.
David and Jeanette the owners are very friendly and have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable from fluffy bathrobes to scented toilet rolls!! I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return some day.

Only had one night here, but was pleasantly surprised by the hotel and its grounds.
The pool is unusually set out, with a very nice eating area.
The hotel and outside areas have a very calming ambiance.
The breakfast somewhat overpriced for self-service, but there was really lovely, fresh selection.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The grounds were just beautiful. When you walk up to check in you know you are in for a treat. The staff were wonderful. Very friendly. Our room got upgraded at no additional cost. The room itself was so quaint. lovely antique furniture. The room smelled like the beautiful flowers that were located just outside the window. We were able to relax outside with panoramic views of the sites from Saint Paul de Vence. We will definitely go back to this location.

Writers and artists still flock to St-Paul-de-Vence, a dazzling example of a 'village perché', restored with great care and taste. Many patronise the famous inn known as the Colombe d'Or (now an exclusive hotel). Handsome stone buildings crown a high ridge within its 16th-century ramparts, giving wonderful views over russet rooftops and cypresses. The Maeght Foundation just outside the village houses an impressive collection of 20th-century art.
