Very clean & staff very nice & friendly. Not many sun beds & guests as usual putting towels on loungers then disappearing for 1/2 the morning. We couldn't get a sun bed & had to go to beach everyday which is 12 euros for 2 beds & umbrella every day.

Spent 7 nights at Martinhal Sagres - we had an ocean deluxe 2 bed. With a toddler and a baby the accommodation was ideal and had been really well thought through - really felt like home from home in terms of all the equipment we had. The pools are great for small children - our son was just happy for hours on end playing in the paddling pools. Our children used the creche and the kids club and the staff seemed very competent - in fact our son liked it so much he wanted to go back after they had closed. The 'village square' is great with small children - you can sit and watch the sun go down with a drink.
Couple of things to think about if you visit this place:
- Having a hire car was ideal for us - meant we could easily go to the close by local supermarket and do day trips. The cost of the hire wasn't much more than a transfer
- I will give it the benefit of the doubt as we weren't in high season (May) but Sagres wasn't the best - not a lot to see and do. Hence comment above - if you want to see something of the Algarve you really need a hire car
- The resort is quite hilly down from reception to the main pool - there are buggy ramps but its better to walk or carry your child down and leave your buggy at the top
- It's not easy to find out what equipment the accommodation comes with ahead of arrival but they are really well equipped (inc washer/ dryer) for families so its easy to self cater. Also ask for the list of baby equipment that can be provided

"Very nice lodging. Five minute walk to the beach"
Our villa overlooking the ocean felt brand new. Extremely accommodating staff that helped with restaurant reservations and was quick to respond to requests. Would go back again! Beautiful little village.

A well appointed apartment with all the necessary equipment and more, lovely balcony with a brilliant view of the sea. Hotel quiet at this time of year but staff still very helpful and pleasant, would happily return as it is a good base for visiting the surrounding area and playing golf.

Great location/pool area and close to lovely beach.
Impression we gained however was that time share is now the owners priority. Eye off the ball re hotel guests we felt.

Sagres is synonymous with the dramatically sited fort of Henry the Navigator. Here at the westernmost tip of the known world, Prince Henry planned the 15th-century Portuguese Age of Discoveries. Every coach tour calls here, then onto nearby “Lands End” at Cape St Vincent. The town of Sagres still has a frontier feel to it, patronised by independent travellers. The windswept, undeveloped beaches around here are the most dramatic in the Algarve.
