"An excellent stay"
We did not know what to expect having booked on the basis of other reviews. We spent a week at the hotel with our grandson (aged 8) and out stay could not have been more pleasant . The staff, general ambience, facilities and quality of food made our stay most memorable and we were sorry to leave. The area in general is peaceful but with good facilities and whilst the hotel almost has the monopoly on dining the quality of the food and service was impeccable and the cost most reasonable. We would certainly recommend this hotel for couples and families and be confident that anyone going by the recommendation would not be disappointed.

"Beautiful weekend!"
We stayed in Schloss Berg in mid March for a weekend. We are so glad we decided to stay at this hotel!!! As soon as we arrived, the reception desk greeted us with warm/wet cloths to clean up from the drive, fresh apples and free wine. We had never been to Luxemburg before and the reception plotted out our entire next day of things to do for us (she was right on point, we had such a great day)! The hotel itself is very nice, the beds were amazing, the showers had awesome water pressure and the pool was so warm, my 6 year old daughter had a great time. The hotel breakfast was awesome and on the house, fresh/made to order eggs/omelets, fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juices. The free wifi was also pretty good. I will definitely be going back to this hotel. Luxemburg city is a 30 minute drive from this hotel, the cab ride ran us 75 euro. There is a casino next door to the hotel, my wife went and won on the roulette wheel!

"Fantastic hotel in a great location"
One of the best hotels I've stayed in with staff who can't do enough for you and great leisure facilities this is the perfect place to get away from it all. It's location in the Saar-Hunsruck National Park is ideal for outdoor leisure pursuits from novice to expert (mountain biking/nordic walking etc) plus the Vitalis spa facilities can be utilised to just chill out and relax should the meteorological conditions not be condusive to any outdoor activities. Although located within the National Park you are only 30 minutes away from the city of Trier and its heritage or alernatively Luxembourg is only an hour away by car should a greater metropolis be required. Stayed twice so far and looking forward to visiting again.

"National Park Type Setting"
This area is about two hours from Frankfurt, Cologne and other big German cities but in a beautiful forest like a national park. Rowboat or pedal boat rentals on the lake cost only five Euros. The hotel has a pleasing mid-Century design and lake views, and a spa. A good place to relax for a few days, but there is not much to do if it is raining.

"Central Trier"
Stayed for one night (two rooms) as a family whilst travelling to another destination in Germany. Didn't use the restaurant (for evening meal) or the bar. Rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet and well appointed, and the hotel is in a great central location with easy parking underneath.

"Quiet retreat after a day of touring"
Staff is outstanding and make the extra effort in so many ways that make the service exceptional. Rooms are comfortable without being extravagant. Though not old, unlike much of Trier, it feels like a really comfortable pair of slippers that welcome you to relax after a busy day.

"Wonderful place to stay"
This hotel was right in the middle of the shopping district. Easy walking distance to the old city and restaurants. Security is very high in the hotel, situated on the second floor and above. Views from the Windows add interest. The staff are extremely helpful. Breakfast is continental, good choices and again staff are extremely attentive.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
