Originally, we had thought about trying to get a hotel closer to the downtown area of Austin. We chose this one because of its proximity to other parts of the area we were interested in seeing and a better price. We chose right.
The downtown area, as it turns out, while a lot of fun, is not the central hub for all things to do in Austin, despite what you might read. We ended up doing a lot of driving, mostly north of the hotel, which made this the perfect home base. The staff was friendly and even made a couple great recommendations for places to go that, once we altered our plans to try them, greatly improved our trip.

Nice hotel with clean rooms, pool, and very good breakfast. Special thanks to Cheryl for her recommendations to local gas stations plus a very good restaurant during our check in. Also, Jael and the staff made our departure morning bright with their upbeat attitude. Thanks!

"Good but not much to do around the immediate area "
Whoever took the pictures of the hotel did a great job because it looks more hip in pictures. Nontheless, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is big and comfortable. My room was clean and included a comfortable couch, desk, a nice king sized bed. The closet is tiny but my trip was short so it wasn't a problem. People in rooms near me where loud in the middle of the night, but I guess that's somewhat common. They have delicious breakfast burritos every morning. There's a movie theater across the street and a delicious tex-mex restaurant called "Vivo".

Although its founding is tied to cattle and railroads, Round Rock’s recent history has been rewritten from bedroom community to economic powerhouse. This suburb is home to Dell headquarters. The computer company’s visible imprint includes its 300-acre campus and the Dell Diamond minor-league baseball stadium. Its influence, however, extends to area tree planting and well-funded city parks.
