My husband and I only spent one night there we were attending a friend's funeral. We found the hotel reasonably priced and clean. It was not fancy but great for what we needed. The staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was good. I would stay there again if I needed a hotel in that area.

"Overall great place with a few exceptions"
Great location, plenty of parking, super food & staff; unfortunately we got the room on the top floor with the sloped ceilings & few windows. The 3 windows there were, two were blocked with an A/C unit & furniture & awnings that limited sun light. Ate in the restaurant twice & the food was great both times. The continental breakfast was chuck full of choices. We would stay there again or go back for the food if we were in town. But don't stay in room #318 or #418 if you don't like close quarters. They even allowed us to park our motorcycle under cover the night we arrived as was raining.

    Pocket Guide: Portsmouth Rochester Hotels

Profusions of fragrant flowers bloom in Rochester's parks and gardens each spring, lending the city its nickname, “the Lilac City.” The largest town in New Hampshire's Seacoast region, Rochester is about equidistant between the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Winnipesaukee. The Rochester Opera House, opened in 1908, features the original movable floor--a fine example of Yankee ingenuity.
