Stayed for 3 nights while visiting our son. Really friendly staff, nice surroundings and great atmosphere especially in the bar area where you can relax in the evenings. Room clean Nd comfortable but was really warm and couldn't open a window. Handy for city centre and rail station. Would definitely return.

The en suite was very small and I was surprised that my room was equipped with a kitchenette, which I did not use. Other rooms are not; it depends on how busy the hotel is and what is requested. I do know that the hotel was very busy while I was there, and the last time that I stayed I had a very nice room which had been renovated fairly recently. As I was attending a conference at the university, the location was excellent for my needs, particularly as there are good places nearby for food.

We had a top floor room that was well equipped, quiet and spacious. The bed had slats that weren't secured properly, which we sorted out! The shower was cold but the maintenance man responded quickly when we complained. It was nice overall. Get there early for parking as it's a popular place with trades people, lots of vans by early evening. Didn't notice any noise though.

A night away to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was a perfect choice. They upgraded us to a suite and both rooms overlooked the gardens and the river. The restaurant is silver service and we were greeted by Aylesbury Duck on a spit being roasted in front of a large open fire. Lovely dinner with fine wine and then time to relax in front of that fire with a night cap. Breakfast is served in your room and rounded off a delightful day

Brilliant. Stayed here while my husband was in Royal Berks Hospital for a shoulder replacement . Surgery went well but due to complications with his other health issues, my expected 3 day stay became 11. I stayed in apartment 502, on the fifth floor [de luxe studio]. So quiet, great view towards the abbey, Forbury Gardens, the Shard & 5 minutes to the Oracle shopping centre. 15 minutes walk to the hospital, far quicker than using taxis or buses with the horrendous traffic, 10 minute walk to railway station.
The apartment was my oasis a the end of many stressful hours at the hospital. Extremely light; airy; well furnished; very well equipped for those who want to self cater & spotlessly clean. Both washing machine & dishwasher were well used. Welcome starter packs for a basic breakfast & washing powders very useful
Both the staff at head office & the apartments could not have been more welcoming, kind & helpful. Could not recommend more highly to young & old alike, for business or pleasure.
