"Great honeymoon stay!"
We stayed at the Vinci hotel for 5 nights. It was amazing from the moment we checked in to the moment that we left. We were allowed to leave our bags while wandering the city. When we came back, our room was decorated nicely, champagne was chilling, rose petalso on the bed. It was very sweet. The room service was great, fast service and delicious food. Breakfast was great everyday that we were there with great service once again. We also decided to have dinner one evening at the hotel and were not disappointed by the food and wine. Overall we would highly recommend the Vinci LiberDade hotel. A special thank you goes out to Rita at the front desk for setting up the room on our first night we were there. You went above and beyond for us and we wanted you to know that we truly appreciated your efforts.

"Lots of features for a low price."
For a relatively low price, this hotel has a lot to offer: pool, free wireless, free breakfast, mini-fridge. This is nice if you are on a budget but still want many features. However, not that every features are a bit on the cheap side. Internet has some hicups and is generally slow. The pool is not what you'd expect of a hotel pool, it looks more like a residential aboveground pool. Breakfast is good enough with decent diversity. The hotel is close enough to 2 subway stations: Rato (yellow) and Marques Pombal (blue/yellow) so it is convenient. It is still a good walk from the stations (with hills), but close enough. We tried two restaurants nearby that we recommend. An indian restaurant (Natraj Tandoori - Rua do Sol ao Rato - 50-52) and a vegetarian buffet (Terra - R. da Palmeira 15). There is also a grocery store (Pingo Doce - Calçada Bento da Rocha Cabral 16) very close to the hotel which is very convenient for longer stays. We tried two beaches: Carcavelos and Concercao/Duquesa/Reinha. Carcavelos is a nicer beach, but the others, being so close to Cascais town are convenient for restaurants. They are all easily accessible by train from Lisbon to Cascais. Water is cold but nice.

"Nice hotel on main shopping artery"
Expensive rates for a cheap european city. We made a reservation with another couple, but there was an issue with their room, so the hotel transferred them to an hotel about 10 minutes away by cab.... Not fun

Great value for money - very well decorated, delicious breakfast. If you don't mind not having an ensuite it's great. Shower is great pressure, plenty of towels & bathrobes provided! Not too far from the city center, can walk but very close to subway to get around.

"What you would expect "
What you would expect from a budget hotel. The building is very old but it's had some minor (sometimes comical) cosmetic updates, such as painting over top of tiles in the bathroom. Staff was very friendly. Wifi works in the room. Decent location, in "Rato". Breakfast was typical continental, with an espresso machine and sugary juice. The beds were quite hard, in typical European fashion. It was also not very soundproof, but the neighbourhood is quiet at night. Parking included was a plus. The elevator is about 100 years old and still works!! The main complaint is we had a no smoking room and the pillow smelled like smoke :/

"Well postioned, comfortable Hotel."
Our second visit. Recognised and greeted by reception pesonnel. This is not a 5 star hotel but 4+. However, I think most would find this hotel agreeable. We requested our original room but, were given a better one. Breakfast offers a wide selection including continental and cooked. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Rato is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Rato, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Rato hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
