We've stayed at this hotel twice now, most recently visiting Qualicum as an excuse to stay at this hotel - it's that good.
Normally I don't care about things like decor or furniture styling - but the rooms are a class unto themselves. I'd define it as a re-imagined, midmodern meets minimalism approach to both the interior of the rooms, the exterior of the building and of course the lobby / restaurant.
The chairs in the room are super interesting (large high-back leather swivel chairs), and the combination of unique layout/decor and full-height windows overlooking the ocean creates a lasting impression.
If you're heading to the Island, make this part of your vacation.

As its name implies, it is an older mansion, transformed into a superb small hotel. The town is quaint, rustic and charming with modern facilities. The golf course opposite the hotel is adjacent to the beach and together provides beautiful views. Three of us had different dinners and each was tasteful and wonderfully prepared and presented. Our room was spacious and well furnished.

The motel is nice. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower curtain has a little mold on it and is a bit dated. Hot water took a while. However as soon as you opened the door the view was simply amazing. I don't think there is a bad view from any room in complex. We would definitely stay here again. Next time would book room with facilities for cooking etc as we would stay longer then two days.

What a great find. From the second of our arrival, Detlef welcomed us into his home with a big smile, like we were visiting an uncle. Our room was comfy and impeccably clean. And the bathroom is great. I love a nice big and bright bathroom with a good shower. Breakfast was amazing! Way more food than I would normally eat for breakfast but I finished it all. Can't go wrong with homemade muesli! But all that food is easily worked off with a short walk to reach the beautiful, long stretch of beach. I am definitely looking forward to visiting Detlef, Siggy and Leia again!

The condo was perfect! Space for entire family and a kitchen too. Right on the beach with a beautiful view. Very clean, excellent facilities and super friendly staff. The only negative is the beach is not as nice as Parkland.

Expedia misrepresented this facility. On Expedia's website it says breakfast included, but when you print off the reservation information is only lists free parking and internet. We did not get a breakfast and I believe this is an expedia problem.

Deriving its name from the salmon that have been fished in its waters for hundreds of years, Qualicum is a quaint and sleepy town on Vancouver Island's east coast. Popular with retirees and tourists, it has a laid-back and slow-paced atmosphere, and miles of pristine sandy beach. The area boats a number of championship golf courses, while thrill-seekers will find plenty of water sports to enjoy.
