We arrived to find a lovely old fashioned building, beautiful reception and well presented clean room.
Our room was a little old fashioned, and had 2 single beds pushed together instead of 1 double but everything else was great.
Shower had good pressure and temperature, balcony looking out onto the square was lovely.
The church clock chimes every 15 minutes from 7am-midnight but this didn't bother us.
The square is lovely and the music played everu night at the hotel adds to the traditional atmosphere and finishes every night at 11:30.
The breakfast buffet is good and reasonably priced, lots of choice especially the earlier you get there.
Friendly staff and perfect location.

"Decent hotel, would stay again for off peak price"
Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean. Rooms need a bit of cosmetic touch to earn a higher rating. Good location overlooking a bit of lago martianez and near the hub of activity (early sleepers and light sleepers may have some issues). I got a decent price, so I felt it was fair value. If I paid peak season price, I might feel differenty. I did not eat at the restaurant.
I stayed at both H10 Tenerife Playa and Catalonia Las Vegas for two days each. So my rating comes from that experience. Catalonia is a decent hotel and I would stay here again. I paid the same price for both hotels and under that circumstance I would choose the H10 for sure as it was one level above in most categories including it's view of lago martianez from the room.

The hotel is well situated, has a pleasant reception area and a good swimming pool and sun terrace. Towels are available with a refundable deposit. Plenty of sunbeds. The rooms are quite bland and the beds are generally single beds pushed together for doubles. There is no fridge in the rooms and tea making facilities are art an additional cost (42 Euros per week including a selection of drink sachets and 6 small milks). All meals are buffet style and there is plenty on offer. We saw little in the way of entertainment and in all the nature of the hotel is fairly bland quiet and reasonably efficient.
The reception staff need to be a little more focused on the guests, they tend to chat ad nauseum, to any person other than hotel guests, however Jorge seems good.
The hotel generally represents fairly good value for money.

Stayed here in September 2016. Good basic apartment. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location. Easy free parking if you have a hire car and easy to find from the motorway. Gentle downhill walk into the town, about 10 minutes away.

On arrival we were given a studio room whereas we had booked a superior double overlooking the pool. The next day to his credit, the manager upgraded us to the suite in compensation. This room had an excellent view of the pool and the sea.
The hotel rooms are being refurbished and from the pictures I have seen they are very good. The suite has not yet been refurbished so was a little tired and run down. I am sure it will be outstanding when it has been refurbished.
The hotel is very quiet and the main visitors are from Germany. Everyone was friendly. Staff were excellent and could not do enough to help you out.
Location wise the hotel is a 5 minute walk to the sea and the old town centre. Lots to see and do in Puerto de la cruz. Great for walking. Not brilliant for lying on the beach due to poorer climate than the south of the island and the black volcanic beaches.

Stayed in a single room on 6th floor.Very small room with 2 single beds but adequate for 1 person.Had a view of the ocean which was a big plus point.Felt quite cold on the first night of stay. The room was cold as probably it was an extension and no other floor above.Bathroom ok.Walls btwn the rooms are thin and voices could b heard from next room.Room did get cleaned everyday and found bed was made on return which was nice.
Breakfast, same menu everyday. However more variety for dinner, good fish preparations.
Ok if someone is after a quiet stay.

Tenerife’s longest established and most complete resort, “Puerto” offers bags of local colour as well as several top-class visitor attractions. Most famous is Loro Parque (Parrot Park), one of the finest wildlife-theme parks outside of Florida with world-class exhibitions of marine life, penguins, primates, and, of course, parrots. Sunbathers head to the flamboyantly landscaped Lago Martiánez lido, or the black-sand Playa Jardin beach.
