Just needed a room for a goods nights sleep before a long drive. Room was lovely (337) couldn’t get the radiator working so the room was chilly but we were going out for dinner in Blackpool so told a lady at reception about it and when we came back a few hours later the radiator was on and the room was lovely and warm (maybe some instuctions on how to work it) had an amazing nights sleep and watched tv on the massive tv. There was no view out the window just all blocked out but not a problem, the cold water was not working in the room, only the hot so in the middle of the night my other half had to run to the vending machine for cold water and pay £1.60 as we were parched! We even tried the bath tap for cold water but nothing. Not a big deal overall though as we only paid £32 for the room through Expedia.

I only wanted something basic and I felt that this hotel was more than adequate for that purpose. I only paid £25.32 as it was a single room, and it was everything I needed. Check in and check out were easy, the room was clean, the hotel was warm. The shower rail needed repair and the shower needed attention (spray pattern was awkward and facing the wall) but the hotel was ideal for my overnight stay. I would certainly use it again if there are single rooms when I need one.

We booked the Lancaster House Hotel for a last minute, quick break close to home.
It was fantastic, the Leisure Facilities were great.
We had a superb meal in the restaurant then a cocktail by the huge fire while gazing enviously at the huge, magnificent Christmas tree.
All staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, many many thanks.

Bartle Hall Hotel is in a most attractive, quiet parkland setting. Access is reasonably straightforward from M6. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Accommodation is clean and smart. Restaurant food is original and very good, although the nouvelle cuisine presentation of the main dinner dishes might not suit all tastes..

Once a thriving mill town, Preston has felt the pinch of de-industrialization like much of the northeast. The city is peppered with beautiful old buildings including the Harris Museum and St John's Minster. The River Ribble runs through the south of the city, where the old docks are undergoing regeneration. A little further up the Ribble is Brockholes: a nature reserve with bird-watching hides.
