Hotel nice although nithing close by, room overlooking the river was ok could've been better had it been cleaned properly as there was stuff on the floor in a corner which was still there 4 days later when we left. Drinks are very expensive for the average couple like ourselves. Staff were pleasant especially in restaurant. May consider short stay again, but will mention any problems right away next time.

Very convenient location walking distance to train station, university, and downtown shopping. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was ok, but dinner from the restaurant was better.

Friendly, efficient check in and welcome. The hotel is set in a quiet location with extensive grounds. I stayed only one night on a business trip, but would definitely consider going back for a weekend break..

Boiler was not working to provide heating in my room, but an electric oil heater was provided as a temporary measure. This could happen to any Hotel of course, so the provision of a temporary heater was very welcome.
Breakfast was beautifully cooked ( I could have eaten another one ).

Once a thriving mill town, Preston has felt the pinch of de-industrialization like much of the northeast. The city is peppered with beautiful old buildings including the Harris Museum and St John's Minster. The River Ribble runs through the south of the city, where the old docks are undergoing regeneration. A little further up the Ribble is Brockholes: a nature reserve with bird-watching hides.
