I would have rated this hotel higher if a) the hotel floor felt somewhat cleaner on the arrival day. The next day the floor was mopped, b) if there were more towels, and c) some more toiletry items were provided. I booked the hotel for a couple, but the room had only one set of towels and one set of tiny toiletry items that included one shampoo, one conditioner, one tiny soap and one lotion. No shower caps, or anything else were provided. However, on the positive side, when I called and asked the front desk for a shower cap, we received the item within few minutes. Also, the big club chair in the room looked awfully old and had a huge stain on its back support area, which made you to think twice before even considering to sit on that chair. So, in short, I think the hotel needs to work on its luxury features so that the guests would leave the hotel with good memories.

There's no actual breakfast, expect hot chocolate and oatmeal. Checking in was really fast and easy. The room always clean and organize. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. Plus it's kids friendly.

Front office staff were all pleasant and helpful. Outside of rooms trash was noted on the stairs and outside walkways. Was told I would be charged a $200 fee if I smoked in the room. I am not a smoker. However when I went into the room it smelled of a stale cigarette odor. I mentioned this upon checkout to make sure I would not be charged a $200 fee. My daughter was woken up at 3 a.m. by yelling outside of our room. Room was clean, and warm. Overall it is a great price for what you get.

This hotel was a great location, it was in the heart of everything! The hotel staff was very kind as well. The only think I didn’t like was the comfort of the mattress and pillows. The pillows and mattress both were rock hard and very very hard to sleep with. Also if someone would sit on the bed the other end would come up. Very cheap in that aspect. If that would be changed I would recommend going there.

Shipbuilding provided the impetus for the creation of Portsmouth in the mid-17th century, and still remains an important part of the city. The Norfolk Naval Shipyard here builds and maintains the US Navy fleet. The Naval Shipyard Museum is located here too. Olde Towne Portsmouth provides shopping, dining, and activities along the Elizabeth River near Portsmouth’s historic center.
