Arrived at hotel on 16/04/2017, staff were helpful, considerate and charming and continued to be so throughout our stay. The room (deluxe two double beds) was clean and spacious enough. Dinner menu in the restaurant was varied with a nice selection. Most of the food was lovely although my wife and I both plumbed for a rump steak (medium to rare) and it came up tough as old boots. On the + side they were removed from the bill. The beds in the room were big enough our 2 children (4 & 6) shared one which was fine, however our bed proved to be extremely uncomfortable as the mattress seemed to be on a tilt. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of choice and was delicious but I'm afraid I can't say the same for the coffee. Again, the staff compensated by replacing it with proper coffee from the bar (Costa coffee style, free of charge from the bar). My only other complaint would be the price of room service, we ordered (quite late) 2 bottles of water and 2 cokes, the bill was nearly £15 pounds. All in all it was a nice stay.

This was the loveliest weekend we've had for a very good nights sleep. All the guests were very considerate of everyone in the building. A place we'll definitely stay for many more nights hopefully... ..Unfortunately Booked up for the nights I wanted at the moment so rather sad about that. Never mind. But I'll keep looking for later in the year.

Very difficult to find out how to park there.... you have to fight way through Gunwharf traffic... find a space see reception... then they tell you to park in the Gunwharf underground and they validate parking.... not easy to walk back with luggage!

Home to the Royal Navy, Portsmouth is most famous for its Historic Dockyard. Visitors can clamber aboard Nelson’s flagship the HMS Victory, view the Mary Rose (Henry VIII’s flagship), and enjoy other nautically themed experiences. Adjacent, Gunwharf Quays buzzes with shops, bars, restaurants and nightspots. These are clustered around the 170-metre-high Spinnaker Tower, visible for miles around and offering great views from its summit.
