We had a late check-in on Oct 8 and the gentleman who helped us was superb at what he does. He was able to service multiple customers all at once without jeopardizing the quality of service. The stay at the hotel was excellent. Upon check-out the next day, 3 ladies in the counter made us wait for a while, almost not acknowledging there are customers waiting on the counter. Customer service has definitely declined overnight. On top of that, my credit card was incorrectly charged.

If you want to stay at Ramada it's good for just a day. But it's not a comfort stay. Staying longer you see the flaws. Rooms smell moldy, pillows so uncomfortable I had to be switch out of my room due to a broken bed I didn't fell appreciated nor welcomed. Only good part is close to airport and shopping but it's not walking distance.

The Best Western Pony Soldier was very well-maintained. The staff were nice, especially the desk clerk who drove me to the airport at 5:00 am. I left too early to enjoy the free breakfast, but area it was served was attractive. My queen room was on the side facing the highway and noisy, but earplugs solved the problem. I tried to upgrade by paying an addition fee to a room facing the pool courtyard, but was told I could not because I booked through a third party--Expedia. I had hoped that my bathroom would have a tub, but learned that all rooms with Queen beds had wheelchair accessible showers. The pool was closed for the season, but I was able to enjoy the hot tub--a treat after four days of kayaking! Very comfortable bed.

I needed to check in early and the staff was accommodating. The location was great with so many restaurants and shops in walking distance. Breakfast was free but quality of food was not good. Eggs were powder, sausages dry and fruit was soggy. Kitchen staff was clearing out dishes and was banging them so loud that everyone was staring.

Situated on the northeastern edge of the city, PDX is a 40-minute light rail ride away from downtown. While the airport’s Oregon Marketplace offers a full menu of shops (including a Powell’s Books), its food selection also impresses. Travelers have their pick of microbrews, German fare, and sushi, among other dishes. First opened in 1958, the airport serves 13 million travelers annually.
