Room was nice to walk into, nice jetted tub, clean! Did have a baby crying next door first nite we stayed which was hard to sleep thru and a.c. fan on high made noisy, and phone in our room didn't work. Breakfast was really good, made to order omlets, waffles, eggs and more. Nice to walk right out to pool then right onto beach! I would recommend!

I like the more personal touch and the vacation feel that this hotel had to it. it is a nice break to constantly staying in Hilton's Marriott's where everything always looks the same. I would recommend it to anybody coming to Brownsville they have a really good restaurant and very friendly staff

The hotel is a little bit hard to find as it's located behind other businesses, however great location because it's right on the beach. The staff was helpful and friendly and gave us the room requested on Expedia located close to pool and 1st floor. We were very disappointed to find out that the waterpark was completely closed down for the "season". Come to find out, their "season" is the summer months. Where as snow-birders, ours is from Nov. - March or April. However, we always make the best of a disappointment and still enjoyed ourselves very much. Although we did not use them, they did have a saltwater pool and a heated pool available. There were many young families using these as the waterpark was closed so we went to the beach and enjoyed the water-view, soft sand and read and walked. Another unexpected fee was the $30 a day umbrella and lounge chair charge. There was no discount even given for hotel guest. We paid it as we didn't want to be burned. We ate at 2 of the hotel's restaurants. One called the Shrimp Haus and the other was the beachside bar. The shrimp haus was A+ all the way around, and the beachside bar was about a B all the way around. Expedia gave us a good rate for the hotel. Prices are on the steep side however on the island as the rule, especially in lodging. The two negatives were, try not to go during the month of March. College Spring break. The other as I mentioned is, when making the reservation, check to see when the waterpark is open.

I stayed for one night. I checked in around 5, only two people at the front desk but I didn't have to wait long. Parking was convenient for my room since it was in the first floor. The room was very nice and clean, it looked very new and modern. It had a microwave, a mini-fridge and a flat screen TV, which I was hoping it did. The hotel was within walking distance of a good bar and grill and a CVS so didn't have to drive that much.
The only issue I had was that they didn't have WiFi at the time, but it wasn't really a big issue. I called the front desk and they said they did have wifi just not at the moment. Overall it was a good experience with this hotel.

Pocket Guide: South Padre Island Port Isabel Hotels
Since its founding in 1554, Port Isabel’s fate has been tied to the sea. That year, three Spanish galleons sank near the city. Its riches are displayed at the Treasures of the Gulf Museum, part of Port Isabel’s museum complex. This attraction includes the Port Isabel Lighthouse, a beacon that has guided ships since 1852. Today, tourist boats depart Port Isabel to explore the coast’s wildlife.
