"Nice hotel but older"
The room was very big and comfortable, neat and tidy. The staff were very helpful. The concierge did not have very good English so it was hard trying to get directions. It is a little way out of the CBD however the dus stop is close 8 Bart to city.

Prince Palace Hotel

"Good Overall"
The staff are extremely polite and very helpful with, understandably, only the language barrier causing occasional problems. During this visit I have stayed in both Tower B and Tower A. The decor and fittings in Tower B were a little 'well used' but Tower A seems to have had a refit in the last couple of years. The journey to the restaurant for breakfast is a trek from Tower B, especially if you are elderly or infirm. Tower A, however, was just straight down in the elevator. The breakfast was self service with a large variety of precooked items to choose from. A variety of bread rolls, cereals, juice etc. The restaurant meals on offer were nice and well presented but I thought the menu choice was a little small for the class of hotel. Meal prices are as expected for the hotel but beware, the drink prices were exorbitant. A small glass of Cola / coffee was more than three quid at the present exchange rate. It's a very large and grand hotel with lots of function rooms but noise in the bedrooms was minimal, just the sound of the room upstairs toilet flushing or noisy persons in the corridors at night. That happens wherever you go. The location of the hotel is a problem. The road traffic in Bangkok is horrendous. The taxis struggle to do the shortest of journeys. The Tuc Tuc's are a little better and usually cheaper as long as you can stand the traffic fumes. The best way to get about from this hotel is by using the river taxi but it is not for the infirm or older person.

"Simple and clean"
This was in easy walking distance of many Wats Kao San road. It's a very simple room though, but compared to other guest houses I've stayed in, it was on the more luxurious side. It's right on a canal, so watch out for mosquitos though!

"Good hotel, great location and staff"
Older hotel that look to be recently renovated. room was simple and comfortable. Had adequate air conditioning. Staff was extremely gracious and helpful. Hotel is in a good location, right next to Bo Bae Tower, a landmark that every taxi and tuk tuk knows, which was very helpful. Not too far from most tourist sites, but in a quiet, local thai neighborhood right on the canals. For the price it was definitely 5 stars.

"Huge room. Great value"
We stayed in the apartment which is the biggest room by far I have stayed in over many years traveling to Bangkok. Personal kitchen and washing machine really makes things easy. It's safe and it's quiet but only a stones throw from prominent temples and Wats. The river shuttle pier to Pratunam and beyond is about a 3 minute walk. Democracy monument is a short walk. Make sure you eat at the wonderful Methawali restaurant if you get a chance. It's an experience and some of the best Thai food I have experienced. The famous Ko Sahn Rd is a short walk from Democracy monument. Great place to stay and highly recommended. Very comfortable.

"Reasonable price with wonderful staff."
This hostel is in a great location--near the Grand Palace and near the best Pad Thai in Thailand. The facilities are basic but very nice. We were in the 5 person family room, and it was a wonderfully restful room (in our travels, it was the best room for sleeping that we have ever had). The hostel is clean, and the staff went out of its way to make us comfortable. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. She cares about the visitors and works to ensure that you have smooth travels and a good experience. For the facilities, the price is extremely reasonable. We plan on staying there again if our travels take us back to Bangkok.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
