We have a wonderful stay and the hotel staff was excellent. Jennifer, Dustin, Tracy, Hope in the spa, and many others were so nice who seemed to truly want us to enjoy ourselves.
If you are considering this hotel, please keep in mind it is not a great place for kids. It is mostly adults, couples and people who want a quiet, calm vacation without children running around. There are many other hotels that are better suited for children with better amenities for them as well.
We were booked in a "partial ocean view" room. Be aware that this is not true. When we arrived the room looked onto another property's garden. We had to move rooms and pay a big fee to get the room that we thought we should have had. This was really disappointing. Expedia is tricking us with this.

Staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean and the hotel is steps from the beach. Stayed in the newer building with a view of the ocean based on other reviews. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Nice Condo facilities close to the beach. Current construction renovations was a worry I had going there but really it was no big deal. Staff was friendly and kind. Facilities were nice and I am sure once everything is updated it will be perfect. Poipu is a great location to stay too it is a more quiet side of the island.

Great location and amenities. Close to beach tennis golf food and more.
Our unit had a mobile ac unit in the master but Central AC would have been nice for a humidity break but other than that. Excellent

It doesn't get much better than this for a resort! Situated right beside shipwreck beach the resort has amazing panoramic views of the pacific. As we approached the hotel, one of the staff welcomed us with leis and the front desk was prompt and friendly. The accommodations were also excellent with many pool areas for kids (sports pool, lazy river, water slide, salt water pool). They had daily activities which included a Thursday night luau. In addition golf courses and tennis courts are also part of the resort accommodations. We had breakfast buffet each morning we were there which was solid and included typical hot items like eggs, bacon, French toast, pancakes, potatoes, oatmeal, sausage, rice, and baked goods and fresh fruit. No doubt we will recommend this resort hotel! Thank you Grand Hyatt for a memorable stay!

On Kauai’s south side, Poipu is known for its gentle waters, which make snorkeling and swimming ideal; Mahaulepu Beach and Shipwreck Beach are among the favorites. Nearby, the Kauai Coffee Company, Hawaii’s largest coffee plantation, is open for tours. West of Poipu, sweeping vistas greet visitors at the Waimea Canyon, while the surf and lava collide at the Sprouting Horn.
