"Nice quiet escape with my honey"
We were on our honeymoon, perfect place to get away from it all and spend time together. Great staff at the bar and restaurant. Excelent private events.

"Perfect honeymoon spot"
The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. The resort itself is spectacular. The entire grounds are so pristine, and they've made the area into their own tropical sanctuary. From the coral garden lagoon, to the winding pathways and bridges, to the bungalows over turquoise water, it's one of the most incredible places in the world. For us, it was a trip of a lifetime.

Stunning location. Beautifully designed resort Good food. Impressive pool. Lovely white sand beach. But if you prefer to swim in the sea be aware that the water is shallow and the southeast trade wind consistantly blows on shore.

"Beautiful facilities, okay food, challenging staff"
The fully renovated over-water villas are amazing, and based on what we saw at other hotels, the nicest in Bora Bora. Food is fine: there's not a huge variety, and after a week it gets a bit tired, especially for the price. Some items are great, some are really not. Cocktails are bizarrely expensive - $30 - but wine is often $10 to $15 per glass. Staff were friendly but disorganized: we had a room service order that's never showed up, a departure time for the airport that was incorrect despite us confirming the correct time with them the day before, and dining service was very spotty, particularly at breakfast. Nothing ruined the vacation, but it added stress and frustration in a place that is supposed to be about relaxation.

"5 star location but food and food service 3 star"
Great location and lovely overwater bungalows but this 5 star resort is let down by poor food at the reef restaurant, poor food service, overpriced food and overpriced drinks. $45 breakfast buffet and $9 for a single scoop of ice cream - come on?!!

"Beautifully appointed rooms, but unbearably hot"
I enjoyed my stay at Le Perle de Tahaa, and was impressed with its luxurious well-appointed bungalows with modern furnishings. My room featured a stone sink and shower, mini kitchenette for preparing meals, and ultra-comfortable bedding. Ordinarily I would give this caliber of room 5-stars, but the temperature in the room was unbearably hot, despite the fan - I was sweating bullets within minutes. The owner, Roberto, is a friendly but to-the-point gentleman who takes pride in his hotel, but he would do well to install air conditioning in these bungalows - even on a pay-per-use coin operated system as used in some hotels in Australia. Powerful fans are installed in the bungalows, but they are of little use as they circulate the hot air - I only maintained comfort through repeated cold showers. With this slight alteration to the property, I believe it could compete with the best of hotels. The beach area by the lagoon was well-landscaped and relaxing, and the garden area features a wide variety of places to lounge and relax. I would recommend this hotel include transfers to and from the nearby pier (2 km, 20 minute walk), as the 1000 XPF price tag for the 3-minute drive is a bit steep - such inclusions go a long way in demonstrating excellent customer service. Roberto also offers reasonably priced island tours (5000 XPF, 5 hours) to vanilla plantations, pearl farm, and fruit orchards - I highly enjoyed his knowledgable guidance and would recommend the tour to visitors.

"Nice hotel, 5 star service "
From the time we arrive at the bora bora airport and we were greeted by the St. Regis staff, the 5 star service began. The resort is beautiful. The over water villas are huge and we enjoyed breakfast every morning looking out at the lagoon. Jumping into the lagoon right off the villa was nice. All the staff are very nice and pay attention to details. Overall, our experience was great and we will be staying here again in the future.

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Point Matira, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Point Matira hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
