"Hotel on the bay"
This hotel is well located and very close to the cruise ships. It has a great walking path along the water. We stayed in a room overlooking the boats in the harbor, and they were dressed up for Christmas, so we had a great light show. The restaurant had good food but it was too cold to swim in the pool.

"Nice hotel near the water"
Overall the stay was ok. It was a little difficult to find the hotel. Huge signs say Island Palms hotel, but a tiny sign that says best western. We were able to check in a little early. Our room was clean and the beds were comfy. The heated pool and jacuzzi were great considering it was quite cool in January. The AC looked like it was not installed with care as the exterior looked seamless, but the interior needed patching. There was a high pitched noise coming from the bathroom that stopped after a while. The door was rumbling as cars drove by. For a one night stay, overall it was ok. You can't beat the location with a skyline view of san diego. I prefer to be outside of the downtown area and felt the location was perfect.

"Don't unload at check in.. get your keys first. "
This was a beautiful place and overall we had a great relaxing stay from room service to parking.. but please just drive up and check in. You may have to drive elsewhere to park near your room. I unloaded my kids and had to reload to drive a block down the road. We had the best time and relaxed. Get out of the room and explore the private beach is just steps away. Something I wish I was told. Also you will need to ask questions as staff didn't relate what the facility had to offer. Do try the gym and dance class! Both top notch. The food was " ok"also suggestion be for other things like bike riding and a yacht tour would have been nice alas I found things out as I was ready to leave.. my fault and I'll surely do my research next time. This was hands down a great location and breath taking experience over all.

I was a little skeptical coming to this hotel during my trip only after reading the reviews after i purchased my room. This is a little hotel/ motel that seems to have been revamped. The rooms are as pictured, a little small though and the bathroom as well is as pictured. My only complaint during my trip was that I had to wait till the morning when the employees were back to ask for towels. We were only given one towel which was a huge inconvenience for me and my hubby meaning one of us, was going to use a wet towel. Regardless, this hotel is walking distance to pretty much everything and a block away from the harbor which is pretty nice! I would maybe stay here again for a super short trip.

Point Loma is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Point Loma, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Point Loma hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
