Spotlessly clean, modern hotel. Very friendly and helpful, staff. The hotel is a 12 minute tram ride from the town centre or museum area and the tram stops right outside the hotel so very convenient to get around. The restaurant was good.

"Amazing boutique B&B and the best stay in Europe!"
My wife and I have been remiss in submitting a review for the Breitner House as we stayed at Guido and Camilla's lovely property almost a year ago. We've just rebooked another long weekend at the Breitner and thought we'd share some view of this unique B&B (the closest characterization albeit B&B doesn't do it justice). First, Guido and Camilla couldn't be more friendly, attentive or courteous. Their hospitality is second to none and they went completely out of their way to make our stay as special as possible. As has been noted before, the breakfast meal that Guido and Camilla prepare is fit for a king, replete with several courses of some of the highest quality breakfast offerings that we've ever had. Moreover, learning of our interest in seeing some of the Amsterdam countryside, Guido went out of his way to take my wife an I on a personal tour of a few of the villages outside of Amstersdam city, driving us through wonderful bucolic towns along the way. Finally the accommodations. We stayed in the George Breitner suite, which was just amazing as it was designed as an artists loft for George and his pupils/followers. It has fantastic high ceilings, wonderful light and great views of the neighboring park. It's also appointed with a mix of antiques and a monumental mural that Camilla painted. The room is as spacious as any you'll find and really nothing like I've ever seen. Really an A+ grease experience.

Very friendly staff and close quarters with very friendly guests. I think the perfect hostel experience! If I wanted a room by myself, I would have gotten a hotel. Love meeting people from around the world!

The rooms are small, but clean. If you just want a clean place to sleep and shower, I think it is perfect. The breakfast was good and about the same price as picking something up elsewhere. Those working at the front desk were very nice and helpful. We needed to print out a ticket and for some reason we could not forward it to the hotel email to have it printed. The young man who helped us was very patient and kept working on ways to do this until it was printed. He seemed busy, but he did not show that we were taking his time.

Pocket Guide: Amsterdam City Centre Plantage - Eastern Docklands Hotels
This area is known as Plantage (Plantation) and while its lush parkland has mostly gone, botanical gardens and the small Artis Zoo provide refuge from the hustle of the city. To the north, the excellent maritime Nederlands Scheepvaartmuseum is a reminder of Dutch naval power; to the south the ethnographical Tropenmuseum holds exotic treasures from the Dutch East Indies.
